You did a great job! I just want to make note (I do this myself) to try doing your roots with 20 vol. The 40 vol. just blows out your cuticle and IF you make a mistake and get it on your already blonde hair - devastation! LOL. There's no room for error with that volume. When I use 20 vol. I still leave it on for a longer time (over an hour) and it gets to level 9.5 - no damage. And I have natural level 1 or 2 hair. Thanks for sharing.
I used to use the BW powder bleach and clairol 30 developer diluted to 20, I had to leave it in for 1hr maybe 1:15hr. For some reason it still wouldn’t lift past the 8 copper blonde. I would have to bleach it twice. I had a lot of breakage. What products are you using?
@@echoingamy oh yeah, the BW is not bad, but can be damaging. I use the Blondeme bleach with 20 vol. And leave it on for an hour and a half! Used to use Wella blonder and that was great too. Don't be afraid to leave the bleach on longer and reapply if drying out. I also use foils as I find it provides a more even lift. I used 40 vol in the past and when I got sloppy, my hair broke off! Lol. Thanks for letting me type all this. Lol
Would this 20 actually work for Asian roots? I saw a video where this Asian girl did 20 on her roots and she did it 3 times and it only went to a dark yellow. She wanted platinum roots. I want platinum hair as well but I’m scared 20 wouldn’t lift enough for my Asian hair.
@@feyrie Oh yes, 20 vol will get you quite light, BUT, you have to leave the bleach on for longer than you would think. I would say an hour is going to take you past the orange/yellow, but I often leave bleach on for an hour and a half when doing my own hair. Even with that length of time, you will not have damage (usually) because of the low volume. The 20 works for longer, so it's okay to leave it on longer.
I let my scalp get super oily, so I don’t wash my hair the week before I bleach. The toner is on about 15 minutes. I usually wash it out after I’ve seen my hair change color 🙂🙏
@@ValleyDragon nah. It’s like 30 second laser treatment. Not bad at all. I think I did 8 treatments. I could do a few more because I prepaid for 3 more sessions that I never used. I think 3 more and it will be completely gone
WAIT! What? You add olaplex AND ion booster AND ion step 2??? For some reason it seems like there's something missing from the video. Did you add the olaplex verbiage after you made the video? I'm confused now and I've watched it 5 times to try to figure out how I missed it 😞 It's not there. That part of your video is missing. I don't see any olaplex at all in the video and I can't figure out how the bleach wouldn't be extremely runny and watered down with two different additives in it or why you would need two different additives. So confused 😵💫
@@echoingamy I'm no longer a fan of olaplex. There's something about it that just makes the hair overly soft and prone to fuzzing up after being used several times. I'm glad that the novelty has worn off for me because the stuff is just ludicrously expensive. I get far better results when I just add a little bit of honey to my quick blue and 40 volume or use a leave in spritz on conditioner before I get started. One of the best that I found is Infusium. You do have to leave the bleach on longer if you spritz with it first but I'm takin' like 2 minutes longer, not 10! I've also tried my favorite conditioner that doesn't get all slimy and waxy in my hair... good old Herbal Essence Rose watered down for my spritz bottle. Both work superior to olaplex on MY hair. I'm going to try the ion booster step one tonight and see how that works. Though, the directions on the box make absolutely NO sense! If you read how it states to lengthen the time by 10 minutes but ONLY for the 40 volume. That makes absolutely no sense. 10 minutes for 40 volume is a very very long time! It seems to me that the other volumes would require an even longer time. Before I even open the vial I'm having doubts. Will follow-up to let you know how it worked for me ☺️

I wont use anything but Ion creme lightener. Best product ever!
Totally agree. Ion is my number 1. I picked up some bleach and toners from the age beautiful line. I’ll be testing those on my channel soon 😀
How did that 40 not burn your scalp? Also, how long do you tone for? Thanks!

All the additives would have also diluted to probably a 35 or 30 vol.
Did you purposely or subconsciously go Into OSUT mode with the cadences? I have a 99cents store bowl just like that.
On purpose.
@@echoingamy I wonder how many people noticed that. Didn't you used to have a tatoo on your wrist?
@@ValleyDragon lasered it’s off
@@echoingamy I was thinking the explanation was this is why you have to wear gloves with bleach. Sounds painful.

Hi. I used ion step one booster, but I called it an olaplex dupe sometimes. I don’t use olaplex. Hope that helps ♥️

It worked! I’m actually more afraid of wella toner breaking my hair than bleach.
