- You guys knows that I'm all about tools. If I'm going to carry something in my pocket, it better be able to do more than one thing. Pocket space is at a premium for the walkraound magician and I can't think of anything more versatile than "out to lunch". A true chameleon of a principle it can be used to create all kinds of astonishing magic.

According to wikipedia:
Out-to-Lunch, a principle effect in magic, was a marketed effect in 1947[1] in which an initialed business card with a picture on it (originally a Hindu boy climbing a rope) disappears in a packet and reappears as a blank card saying "Out to Lunch", still with the original initials.
Marketed by Clare Cummings and Bob Ellis, it was based on a masking principle shown them by Cliff Lester, although later found published in his Twenty Magical Novelties (1930) by Edward Bagshawe as part of "The Recurring Name" effect.
Genii 1948 July awarded it as the year's best pocket trick.

I often perform as a mentalist and I use an effect outlined in Jay Sankeys lecture notes from a few years ago, they tie in great with handing out a business card. I’m trying to get in touch with Jay to see if he’d be alright with me teaching the effect or doing a collaboration.

I use this method to pull the head off of a Stick Figure after they sign the card and name the stick-figure

dude... this is a great principle and you should want to show it in performance. This is a really hack and super cheap way to get views. Do none of the work, but show everyone the method. Low.
