The problem is that Hoyer is still living off of 2016. Hoyer and Hawkins need to go. So sick of the Cubs thinking they are smarter than everyone else in MLB and this is the result. It is back to “same old Cubs”.

For about 2 months…none of the Cubs hitters have been able to square up a fastball down the middle…no matter who is throwing the fastball.. watch ‘em. If they hit anything it’s a hanger or a high change-up. They can’t hit a fastball. Nobody can!

Haven’t seen as much of the Ricketts post WS win. Judging by how we Chicago fans still live off the 85 Bears and 90s Bulls, there’s no incentive for the front office to do anything other than rake in our money regardless of the product they put on the field. They won’t care if we scarcely sniff the post season for decades.

Well said Tom Ricketts has been in hiding since his infamous comment during Covid about him losing money “of biblical proportions”. 😳
This is basically the same team that went 57-43 the final 100 games last year and just missed a play-in game. The consensus was to keep the team together & Counsell was supposed to come in and improve on the margins. Now after seeing worse performance pretty much top to bottom as well as mental mistakes that are an entirely new problem & not putting any of the blame on the manager is total hogwash.

Ricketts has no motivation with the stands full. So he doesn’t care that Hoyer and Hawkins are bad at their job, almost like it’s by design. Counsell seems bought in too, like he was told part of taking the salary was letting the team flounder. I’m guessing, but it looks like he’s making no effort, letting it happen.

Good discussion. What if the Cubs do nothing? They don't buy or sell anyone of value, and just play out the season with what they have...That seems more likely given Jed's off-season moves. If he's going to make any move, he'll just pick up DFA players. Surprised he's not going after Tim Anderson...LOL

The Cubs need to trade everyone here’s why because Tom Ricketts Jed Hoyer and Carter Hawkins didn’t do a good enough job of getting enough prospects back for example you had to trade Ian Happ after he made the All Star Game in 2022 and they should have traded Wilson Contreras in 2022 at the trade deadline.
Don’t remember anybody saying they should trade Happ or Wilson in 2022. You think they would have gotten top notch prospects back to help this team in 2024? I highly doubt it. Your logic is flawed

It seems like Hoyer assumed everyone would play like last year and they would get the team that went 50-28 in the middle of the season.
Somehow the offense is horrendously bad, and it keeps putting pressure on the whole pitching staff. It’s insane the broadcasters openly sound bored of this team and point out how had they are

Were about 85 game into the season and our top hitter has 45 rbi's, who by the way is batting .198 LMAO.... This team has to be one of the worse ones I can remember since the mid 90's. Send all the offense down to AAA except PCA.

I paused this video, right after Kap asked that question, and before "Gordon, and Michael answered" about finishing in last place!! In earlier comments I don't think the Cubs will win 60 games!!🤔🧐
I put some blame on the base coaches for some of these blunders as well. Using this last example of Bellinger, I guarantee the first base coach wasn’t in his ear about the outs, situation, etc. like he should have been. That’s his job after all.

Everyone should be hot for a trade. They aren't going after a Star to lead the team. They need to rebuild. I am also concerned that the covided prospects that Jed is in love with aren't turning into the players he thought they would become. Even I am not sure Crow-Armstrong will ever hit MLB pitching. I have been a Cubs fan for 48 years. I am tired of being the Lovable losers.

Why should the Cubs be sellers? What will they get? PROSPECTS? Don't they already have one of the best rated Minor League systems? Why get prospects when they already have a bunch of top prospects? Why don't they use some of those prospects to bring in some stud hitters?

Trade J Steele to Orioles for ready made stud young hitters and a pitcher like McDermott....say Kjerstad, Norby, McDermott thats not waving flag for 25. Thats legit RF, 2B, #3 starter potentially. Positional flexibility also since Kjerstad can play LF, DH. Norby came up as SS and can play 3B as well

Anybody who thought this Cubs team was going to be good going into season was delusional. This was a poorly constructed team. When you have a GM who runs a large market team like a small market team and doesn’t do nothing in the offseason. I am diehard Cubs fan and I have seen some bad Cubs team but this might be the most pathetic Cubs team I have ever seen. The Cubs need a new players but more than that need a new leadership and vision.
What happened, and the problem is that the Cubs just aren’t a good team besides starting pitching, even though them and STL were the odds on favorites to win the division before this season started. I tried to tell cubs fans they were overrated and wouldn’t be contenders this year but I just got called a hater😂🤦♂️ Now everyone is back tracking acting like they had no expectations for this team💀
