The vocal range required to sing this song is very wide! So nice to see Akasha taking the lead, and she's absolutely the right choice for this one. I saw Kim Wilde a few years ago, and her niece (the backing singer) stole the show. Akasha seems to have the same lively stage presence, so I hope we'll see more of her in future videos.
She is absolutely gorgeous, has all the moves , looks and a voice that can't be beat!!!!!! She is so refreshing and far better than these other so called celebrities!!!!!!! She puts them to shame!!!!!! She should be at the top of the charts!!!! Don't let stardom change you !!!!!!

Fuck! this caught me off guard, totally forgot this song. As soon as it started I blew into tears and heartache. This was my anthem growing up. The torture and abuse, this song was my hope for anything.
Akasha did a great job for her first time singing lead as did the rest band playing. I heard this on the radio on the way home today and thought Akasha could knock this one out of the park also...I love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett.

Wasn't particularly a fan but saw her back in the day supporting Michael Jackson, She was surprisingly good. Much better voice live than you might imagine and a surprisingly good stage presence. It was a pleasant surprise.

I am of an age that was smack bang in the middle of this era as it emerged.
I can confidently state this version if played in the 80’s it would have been embraced as every bit as much as the original.
I cannot give this interpretation higher praise and as a teenager and young adult of the 80’s.

The wait is finally over and after numerous hints, Akasha finally not only gets to sing "Kids in America" but does it solo too. Absolutely blown away how she looks and sounds like a young Kim Wilde and certainly made an Englishman very happy this Saturday morning, although i'm probably just behind a very proud Mum in Nikki!. Obviously all good singers have to be backed up by a great band and the usual high standards are here in spades, so well done to everyone on another awesome video and onto the next.

That is how good Darren has become. And Darren you are fortunate to be surrounded by an incredible cast of musical talents….
