I'm a truck drivers wife..I've also worked as a dispatcher and have witnessed marriages shred over a payphone in our lobby..the pain is real..both ways. It takes a hell of a woman/man to live this life. The strongest support a driver has is his co-pilot at home.. love and support your drivers people.. it's not a game....

it is definitely very challenging to be either a truckers wife or a trucker. my husband went over the road for years ago and it's one of hardest thing to deal with but the worst is when you have to say good after bening on home time. but he is doing the best he can for us and we love him for that wish he could be home every night but until then I will just be another truckers wife praying for his safe return

Listen ladies I know being a truck drivers wife is hard. I live it every day and it's even harder when you have children. But if you love your trucker stand beside him no matter how hard it is. What has gotten me through is listening to gospel music and reading my bible. I know what I do is not for everyone but if that man didn't love you then he wouldn't be out there risking his life on that road to make sure your bills are paid and you have food on the table. Stand beside your man and be strong for him.

This makes me wanna cry! I unfortunately was selfish thinking being with a truck driver was too hard when you got little ones at home. But over years of being apart and the children got older, I realized no matter what I still love my truck driver. We got back together and we are happy. It ironically took me to get my CDL to realize you guys work hard and need a great deal of patience yourself.

things that come to mind when i hear this: While on the road my wife has ended up in the emergency room, my dog of 12 years died and i didnt get to say good by, my mother in law died and my wife was home alone to deal with it, my son cant stand me and thinks a trucker is a low class life, and many other things happened that i should of been home to deal with...but the bills need paying. my wife wants a nice house, my kid wants a nice car and nice things.....
so here i am running the roads.....
were else can someone with my skill level bring 50k a year home after all taxes and expenses? working 2 weeks out the month?
    but they still complain....
I can relate to this song.

Listen to your songs a lot. Some make me laugh, some make me miss my trucker even more, some bring tears, while others bring smiles but they are all great! Been a truckers wife for 23 years and he has been driving for 35. It is a hard life on both sides and takes two strong trusting people to survive it. I cannot imagine a driver calling home and being told this but know it happens and too often. I raised our kids and became a fix it all person while he earned a living and missed so much with them and me. I know he has it a lot harder OTR inside that truck with nothing but the radio and putting up with all that goes with the job. We spend a lot of time on the phone. I spend a lot of nights on the phone all night while he drives to keep him company. I love when he comes home and immediately start dreading leaving time. I never know if it will be the last time I get to hold him and tell him I love him when he climbs in that truck and drives away. It is a very hard and lonely life and even more so for me now that the kids are grown and gone. I look forward to the day he can walk through that door and tell me hung the keys up for the last time! Until then I will keep the home fires burning and wait for home time. Fully support your driver! It is not a life for whiners! Be willing to give your all and then some for your driver.

+Pam Stone You are every real truck driver's dream. A partner. I went to driving truck to maintain the level of lifestyle my wife expected. She had everything she needed or wanted. Except I wasn't there. The phone wasn't enough or the weekends together. I hope she is happy with the 5'2" bald midget who owns a copy repair business struggling paycheck to paycheck. Karama!

Tim England Yes, karma is a b...well you know! Sorry things went the way they did for you. If you haven't already, I hope you find that special woman that is strong enough and loves you for you and not the material things you can give her. I'm not a material gal. I would rather my trucker be home more often than out there busting his butt to provide wants. The essentials to live are plenty for me. Be safe out there and keep a diligent eye on those nutty 4-wheelers!

Pam Stone: Being a truck drivers wife is a lonely life. And your right it's not the material things that matter. When I first started this life my family kept telling me he is gonna have a different woman in every state. People talking bullshit is why alot of marriages like this don't work. I spend alot of nights laying alone crying and praying for his safe return. But I have to realize he was in love with the highway before he was me. #truckdriversqueen

Well, I'm a trucker...home every night and faithful. My first wife cheated on me and the third time was what I needed to divorce her. I remarried and after three years and a daughter she cheated on me as well. I suppose it must be me. I am still with her and now two daughters. Life has some heavy emotional beatings and I got some nice scars but I have two little girls who need their pops so I will do my best and give my all till the end I suppose. I realize why you never hear from anyone after they die. I don't think I would want to come back either. You sing this song quite well Brad!

If you don't think you can handle your man being gone all the time then this is not the life for you. It's takes a strong man to leave his family and even stronger woman to stand beside him. It gave me to much time to be alone with my thoughts so I went on to do local P&D. I'm still gone from home about fourteen hours a day but it's easier on me.. "well kinda" Your songs about the road really touch home.. I'm glad to have a great woman that stands by me while I do what I love.. My son is twenty now and over seas serving our country.. Hated missing so much with him while I drove.. Like I said.. Your songs or the way you sing them just lets me know how lucky I am.. Thanks. I didnt have the heart to tell him his wife was sleeping around while he was gone. 27 year old trucker wife.been on the road with him for almost a year and there are times in afraid and hate this life. today we were at a shipper for eight hours without food. talk about torture. and going to the bathroom is a nightmare also. the other hardest thing about being a truckers wife, if we have to see his family more than 4 times a year and I hate my mother in law because she told me I wasn't worthy enough to be considered a daughter in law, so why would I want to Vista this witch more than once a year? can't always shower, and I constantly afraid of us getting in an accident, but I'm making the best out of it.

I recently got back on the OTR long haul and have not been home for a month. I have a girlfriend that I love alot and this song just made me cry. I hope this does not happen to me or anyone else. I love my girlfriend more than anything but driving is the only career I have left. Prayers and wishes go out to all drivers and their families

I guess this song hits home hard. 3 years of my trucking life I was married. He was my co driver for so long but he didn't want to do it anymore, he wanted everything and a 40 hour job wasn't going to pay the bills and what he wanted so I wanted back out on the road, he didn't we ended up divorcing because this is my life, it takes someone special to do this job. So now I'm out on the road alone with my dog.

Girl you hang in there. There is a man out there for you some where. I'm a truck drivers wife yes it is hell but when you love someone the way I say I love him there is no other man crosses my mind. Your right it takes a strong person to do this. I never thought I could but when I met Jarvis i knew that I could do it cause I love him. Your in my prayers stay strong and thank you for everything you do.

I know there are truckers out there that are faithful to their wives and wives that are faithful to their husbands.i was a truckers wife and I loved going on the truck over the road and I do respect you truckers. It is a hard job really and hard being away from you spouse. My ex cheated on me more than once out there and I supported him whole heartedly but he still cheated I treated him like a king and he left me and divorced me him being a trucker cost me my husband of 32 years. Although I do still respect all of y'all out there who do the right things or not. I just don't respect my ex anymore. Sorry I had to write this for the ones who don't make it. Thanks for reading it.

God this songs hits so deep and can't imagine trucking back in my dad's time when you had to find a payphone just to make a call but even with cell phones nowadays and being able to video chat is just as bad in my opinion, you get to hear and see your love ones but not able to be with them is what hurts the most. I've been through countless girlfriends & a few wife's and I'm not even in my thirties but thankfully I've not had kids and put them through barely seeing them and being raised by there mom.
