    Update 1/11/2024: The front shocks gave out after about 80,000 miles. I think they were a great deal & lasted about as long as I expected given the abuse I put them through towing cross country.
    I upgraded to Bilstein & lifted the front end 1.5” in the process. The airbags are holding up great but I should have purchased the heavy duty option which I didn’t know existed as they are only a little more expensive.

    I did this same conversion on my 2014 Ram, i used the HD Air Lift bags. It seams to help with not so heavy loads. But im am making the switch to the Tuftruck 1223 coils. Just figured id share that with you if you are experiencing any sag with towing.

      I should of ordered the HD Air Lifts too but I didn’t know they existed - should of done more research before shopping for this unexpected project.
      I’ve towed up to 8500lbs with this setup and no sag but still would like to upgrade to thick coils and load lifter setup when my budget allows.

    Not that it matters now, but instead of jack mode, you ahouldnhave put it in transport mode, it would have deflated all the bags then put it in jack mode.

    I'm bout to tackle this job this weekend got my parts headed in can't wait to be cussing then jumping for joy once it's all done. BTW about the section you talked about getting all the air out before but you could not find out how. To anyone just put you truck in entry exit mode

      Excited for you to be done with air suspension headaches.
      Ahh I did that but thought there was some other process that I was missing.
      I’ve towed 8k miles with this setup so far and I’m very happy with it.
      Only thing I messed up on was removing the air suspension fuses after the job was done. Now upon starting my truck the immediately service air suspension warning appears..

    I just bought a Ram 1500 Laramie with Air Suspension. I know about air suspension, never seen it in a truck stock though. I wanted the Dealership to remove the system all together due to the failure that eventually happens as with any air suspension. Dealership would not do it because it would "mess up the computer & sensors which would cause me to start to have problems with the truck" I have had success with Monroe in the past, I prefer Moog, Monroe is fine though. They make a good product. My question is, would this work on my truck? 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Laramie. The Air ride is from the factory & has the controls for it in the dash. I'm not a huge fan of my truck moving up and down when I'm getting a 4in BDS lift on it. Any suggestions?

    • @RoadDogReviews
      @RoadDogReviews  Рік тому

      Yes it would work. If you remove fuses before doing the job with battery disconnected you’ll be good.
      I forgot that step but all I get is a service air suspension message when I turn the truck on - no functioning issues.
      I’ve driven over 30k on this setup mostly towing boats and campers everything is A ok.
      Moog is a better option - I didn’t realize there isn’t much that makes this a conversion kit - you just remove sensors and replace bump stop ain’t too much converting going on..
      I’ve seen others say they have no issue lift X factory airbags so I would say riding it out till it goes out would be best way to get bang for your buck.. you won’t be able to sell the old system for very much and it doesn’t suck until you start hearing that compressor over working n come out to a tilted truck 🤷‍♂️.

    “Take your nuts out” lol I’m about to tackle this job this weekend but I just got some info that I won’t be able to tow anymore which is a problem for me cuz I have an rv where did you ge those bag and are you connecting them to the original compressor?

    • @RoadDogReviews
      @RoadDogReviews  Рік тому

      Air lift 1000 on Amazon I’ve towed over 8k miles with the setup - it’s working great. I have to add air manually like you would a tire.. you can tow without the bags but I would upgrade to thicker coils if you want to do that.. I’ll upload link to the ones I ordered tonight. They sell nicer air bag systems that have a remote controlled compressor.
