Amazing how far McDonald's has fallen. I miss the 80's.
I can't believe how expensive McDonalds is now. Especially since they are like third tier fast food. In N Out is cheaper and MUCH better.
And still contributing to obesity just like the 80’s.

Amazing how I hated seeing these ads at the time they were actually on the air but I love looking back on them 30+ years later.
I miss the McDonaldland characters so much. I loved their commercials in the 1980s during my childhood, with Ronald and Grimace and Birdie and Hamburgler (Mayor McCheese and the pirate and professor were phased out by then). I used to love watching them on weekend and summer weekday mornings.
Even in the 80's I never saw Mc Donalds staff smile like that.

growing up in the 80's oh what memories , watching those commercials wanting to go to Mcdonalds & when you went to Mcdonalds that was a treat cause I only got to go 2 or 3 times a year if we were lucky 4 times, food was great customer service was good quality you didn't have have people getting up in your face & complaining , not like today

Ugh. I miss those fried apple pies! When I worked at McDonald's they still had styrofoam packaging and ashtrays in the restaurants.

I SO miss the old McNuggets. The dark meat/white meat combination made them taste so much better!

These were definitely and truly the glory days of McDonalds. Back in the 80's and 90's McDonalds truly had the best French Fries ever unlike today where they practically taste like cardboard now and are so lumpy and soggy and crappy. Back then they were golden and crispy and melt in your mouth delish. Their burgers and breakfast sandwiches were infinitely larger too and had infinitely more flavor and you got more for your money and especially your appetite and hunger. Big Macs of today suck ass and so does their egg mcmuffins and biscuit sandwiches. Apple pies back in the day were infinitely yummy too and (B.1987) their Happy Meal toys were the bomb back then too.
+materialgirl8707 I dont know, man. Their regular food is just kinda meh(I am a sucker for the hotcakes and sausage, though), but if you're lucky enough to catch a fresh batch of fries these days-they're still pretty damn good. lol
+materialgirl8707 Back then people also had work ethic. Nowadays you have kids working in there who don't give a crap not to mention the food is now such low quality compared to back then. Makes me glad to have grown up when I did compared to now.

The "On the go" commercial is the only one I know of outside of the Christmas ice skating one that was used in two different ad campaigns. It started during "Together, McDonald's and You" and went into "It's a Good Time for the Great Taste" just changing up the music a bit, naturally.

I have a grandfather who worked at mcdonalds when he was in high school like 1964, he told me the stories of how it has changed and he can tell by the taste of food, back then fries were actually prepped and burgers being made to order for customers so they don't wait long, and how their fountain sodas had real sugar, he said those days were better, now these chemicals and stuff are added for preservatives and blah blah so customers don't wait long.
+Joe Luis HAHA Last time I ate at a McD's (a long time ago). I had wait quite a while. The menu has gotten so big that it takes forever just to decide what you want.

80's yes, 90's not so much. By mid 90's they had started changing ingredients and people were also complaining about how unhealthy it was.

McDonalds has literally tried just about everything. McPizza, fried chicken, roast beef sandwich, onion nuggets, hot dogs, mcSalad shakers, McLean Deluxe, Arch Deluxe, Soup, ham and cheese, grilled cheese, philly cheesesteak, bratwurst, chicken fajitas, McDLT, cheddar melt, triple cheeseburger, corn dogs, chicken parmesean, spaghetti, and of course Chicken Selects (remember those?!)
I was so surprised to see the Burger King, KFC and Taco Bell commercials after all of the McDonald's commercials I thought it was all going to be McDonald's lol

im looking for the mcdonalds commercial where a bunch of high school kids were in it and the song was rock and roll type..not hardcore...i barely remember it but i do remember seeing it on a VHS cassette tape and i remember that there was a mickey mouse commercial on that tape as well

My Dad was telling me that he starred in a Mcdonalds commercial d in 1988 or 1989. It was for a mcchicken sandwich. He remembers spinning a basketball and he says it was based in a restaurant. If anyone finds this commercial than please tell me as me and my dad have been searching for it as we would obviously love to watch it!

The real sad part is McDonald's used to be a fun place to go food wasn't cold employees actually didn't have attitudes mangers used to walk around asking how the food was.. Restrooms got cleaned on a regular basis.... It really was a pretty cool place back then... now you couldn't give me any reason to visit one you already know what your in far

McDonald's is still a nice restaurant, but it isn't the same place since the mid-2000s when they went into the "I'm Lovin' It" advertising campaign and also when Ronald McDonald was dropped.

I used to hate these commercials every saturday morning during cartoons. I'd be up at 630 and that's when the breakfast commercials would start making me very hungry for mcdonalds breakfast. By noon they hit you with the regular commercials and thats when the mcnuggets craving would hit.

Why do I get the feeling that Ford had a deal with McDonald's in making the first spot?!!! At 0:19, the server is handing the food to a couple & their dog in a classic Mustang convertible, & the cars behind them in the parking lot are an '82 Fairmont & Escort 5-door hatchback.
