Foamy Tash Cocktail from Monk - Buxton

  • Welcome to the Monk Cocktail Bar's UA-cam channel. We are just a cosy, craft cocktail bar in the historic Spa Town of Buxton, Derbyshire. Located just a stones throw from the iconic Buxton Opera House, we love creating, preparing and serving great drinks - and we hope you enjoy drinking them!
    We operate a seasonal menu, and a 'concept menu' which changes every month. This cocktail is from our seasonal menu and created by our own Mr Adam John Bailey.
    It starts life with his favourite spirit - Bourbon. To this Frangelico (Hazlenut liqueuer) and Tuaca (a brandy based liqueur spiked with orange essence and vanilla) are added and shaken together, to create a rich, spicy, nutty and dry base. Layered on top of this is a Chambord foam - made from egg white, lemon, chambord and water - for a sweet, contrasting and balancing element. The drink is served without straws, so you taste the sweet and the dry individually but simultaneously....which can result in a foamy moustache. Finally the beverage is garnished with a little lemon zest.
