Sadly UA-cam audio quality does not do these fabulous DR drum sounds full justice. Once you hear them through really high quality monitoring (I use handmade Quested S7 active monitors), they really come alive and with a lot of detail. I've got software drums like EZ Drummer and various expansion packs, but I always keep coming back to the Yamaha DR card in one of my four MU100R rackmount synths.
Volume knob only controls the analog RCA output. I'm using the digital TOSLINK output which is only adjustable using the Digital Gain option under settings menu.
Hey Superdeadite-- I suppose I could try to track you down on Vogons, but this might work, too. I just got one of these boards for my MU1000 largely based on your videos showing that the board can be easily mapped. I'm having a heck of a time getting it to work. If I just map it and play a file from a windows player, nothing happens. If I try playing XG tunes, it automatically resets it to 1 from 10. Either way, it never makes a peep. Is there another trick that I'm missing? Thanks!
Real XG MIDIs have to be edited, as XG System On Message will fully reset the unit. However basic MIDIs should be fine. Mapping the PLG as Part 10 just makes it available to use. After you need to select Part 10 and then push the SELECT button to actually enable the PLG.
That snare. Rings like a bell. That snare, super tight. Love it. Hit it. Once more.
