I used the 200mm on many ocassions and loved it. Nikon even offered it too me at nearly 50% off however by then I could already see they would be closing down in my country so I was shifting from Nikon. An affordable alternative is to get a 135mm F1.8. Sharp, faster focus and great Bokeh. However this lens will always have a sweet spot in my heart.
Amazing lens, I went through two vI versions before finally finding a vII at a very good price so couldn’t resist and don’t think I’ll ever resell this, especially mid distance shots have such an unique look, almost brenizer like. And to all Z fellas, just snatch one used (even the vI which now goes for very low prices and is basically identical optically), it works really well with the FTZ 😊
I do own nikon 200mm f2 VR Ii since 2018. I immediately replaced its foot with ReallyRightStuff foot. I also own nikon 85mm f1.2 S as well as Sigma 105mm f1.4, but they do not come close to nikon 200mm f2 in terms of photo rendering. This lens is at different league.
One of my favorite F-mount lens. Thanks for sharing!
Be great if Nikon made a PF Z mount version of this lens. No doubt it would be considerably smaller and lighter too.

Excellent video. Because of its weight I think the 200mm f2 is more useful as a studio lens.
I agree, but it would be tempting not to use it a lot more, maybe on a monopod.
@@seancameronphotographic3740 A monopod sounds like a good compromise.
Great lens for badly lit venues both inside and outside venues under floodlights
Absolutely. And one of my justifications for getting one.
@seancameronphotographic3740 worthwhile investment and focus dstwr on my Nikon z9 than it did on my Nikon D6

I think we both know that I'm going to end up with one in my camera bag fairly soon
I wish it was lighter lens. Because of its weight I use my 300mm f2.8 (non VR version, 2.5kg) a lot instead of 200mm f2.
Would have already bought a 200 f2 AFS but I went Z.
Now i'm waiting and waiting for a Z version...🦘
