Great video. I had a mommy makeover June 9, 2023 and my healing process is going well. The first 2-4 days were rough; however, I had a great support system. I walked slight hunched over for about 2 weeks. After day 4, I was able to walk upstairs and by day 10, I was driving. I used a lift chair the first week to help take the pressure off my abdomen. I deal with swelling of course, but that is to be expected. I ordered a wedge pillow set from Amazon, so I was sleeping in my bed at week 3. Everyone's healing process is different. My experience has been very postive thus far and I love my new stomach and breast already. I pray for all those out there in the recovery stage.
@tallproudnatural can you tell me what the name of your wedge set is? I'm having a tt and bbl done and I'm going to need something to sleep with in the bed
I was standing straight up right when I got home. My doctor injects something into the belly while in surgery and I had zero pain for 3 days. I slept in my bed the first night. I was up walking and doing dishes. First drain out in 6 days..next one is coming out tomorrow. I went on a mile and a half walk 6 days post op but day 8 I got super tired but over all I’m doing so good!!!
4 days after surgery I was so depressed I got out the house. My husband and everyone was complaining about me moving to fast. But I refused to just rest at home. My drain came out on day 8 and I was still a Lil hunched o er but my doctor said I was recovering great. I'm thinking I don't really need 6 weeks off work.
Im on day 5 after getting my tummy tuck + Liposuction. All I can say is the first three days were the WORST. I was feeling super depressed and asking myself why I willingly did this to myself and could I have not just been satisfied with the weight loss itself. However today I was super positive and active and managed to walk around a lot more. I can basically almost stand up straight which is strange - slightly hunched when I walk. The scars on the tummy tend to sting a lot and really hurt especially whilst sleeping. My honest advice is walk around as soon as you can.

I remove them in a couple of days and will get my lymphatic massages. On Tylenol twice daily. I am looking forward to these other stages, but I am doing great thus far with amazing family support (much needed)🙏🏾. Thanks for these post-op stages, which help. Houston. TX...Mia Anesthetic
Thank you for your information. I’m week 3 in recovery: tummy tuck and brachialplasty done. Muscles underneath stomach wow… super tender. My underarms are SO tender… I have compression garnet on belly which isn’t too bad- I feel secure. The compression garmet under my arms?? Wow sore, the rubbing under my armpits!!!! Yikes! I’m starting to see the difference now in my tummy and back waist mushroom is gone. My “ loose flappy underarm skin otherwise known as “ Bingo!!! Arms” lol is gone. I cannot wait to start my gym journey and continue tightening my body. I’ll be 60 in Jan and looking forward to my continued recovery and body changes. Hello! I am two weeks after mommy makeover (tummy tuck, breast lift and liposuction) tomorrow. And results are amazing! I am very satisfied! Thanks doctors for invented this procedure!!!
I’m 5 days post-op tummy tuck and flank lipo, and I have no regrets at all. The first 48hrs are ruff but day 3-5 I’m up moving more showering and dressing myself. I don’t regret it at all, I knew going into it, it wasn’t going to be a quick recovery so I set the expectation for myself ahead of time. The biggest thing bothering me day 5 is the lower back pain from walking hunched over, I’m planning to get massages once my drains are out to hopefully help with body pains and discomfort. This video was truly helpful and got me excited about the weeks and months ahead!!
3 days post full TT with muscle repair and liposuction was up walking later that day… dressing myself.. bit of swelling, still have my drain… and feel tighter as the days go on, but no pain meds after 2nd day… No regrets… looking forward to getting back in the gym 😊

THANK YOU DOCTOR FOR THE INFO AND REASSURANCE, I HAD MI PANNICULESTOMY ON JULY 21, 2023, TODAY IS THE THIRD DAY AND TODAY ALSO FINISHED THE FIRST 48 HOURS. THANK YOU TO YOU FOR EXPLANING WHY WE NEED TO HUNCH AND BE HUNCHED UNTIL THOSE SKINS SEAL COMPLETELY AND AVOID STRECHING OR OPENING, THANK YOU!
I had a tummy tuck 10/22 eight weeks later I developed a very large seroma. I had to go back in for surgery. Opened up and my lining of my tummy was scored and the serums scraped out. My surgeon had to snip the sutures so they wouldn’t irritate the new huge wound left by the seroma and all of my muscles came apart. Thank you dear doctor. I am from Trivandrum, a city in the southern India. I had a tummy tuck and Gynecomastia procedure two weeks before. I am still in pain. I do have swelling on my tummy. I initially was under the false impression that the healing would be quick. But when the pain and swelling persisted after two weeks I was a bit worried and depressed in spite of my surgeon’s advice that everything would be alright sooner than later. Now after watching your video I am just relieved and now I understood that I am passing through a phase which is quite normal on my way to recovery. Thank you doctor for your video and assurance which has a great impact on me.

The information on this video is exactly what I was searching for. I wanted an idea of the recovery process, I have a tummy tuck with lips scheduled in 2 months. so countdown is ticking
I love all your videos, you explain things in a way that it's easily understood. Would have love to see one on bbl and tt combined, can't seem to find one yet that walks you through the process.
Reputable surgeons will not do a TT and a BBL at the same time because it’s almost impossible to heal after surgery. It’s also very risky. Which is why you won’t find those videos on UA-cam. :)
@@pher2712 it actually is possible to combine those two procedures safely into a single operation. I have done it thousands of times - and others have also. But it depends on many things and mot every patient is a candidate for a combined tt and bbl. And I can assure you that I am “reputable”.
Thank you sir for this informative information. I just have my mommy makeover on February 8th and was wondering about the process. I couldn't handle the hydrocodone; it made me horribly sick so the second day I was dependent strictly on Tylenol and Advil. I'm feeling a lot better now but I can't wait for the swelling to go down and my drain removal on Monday. I'm staying away from sodium and sticking to protein shakes, bone broth, salads and water. I'm also waiting for my breast to look and feel natural 😊.
It's surprising that your doctor would not review all the details about your tummy tuck recovery. We make sure to go over all these things with our patients well before the surgery.

I'm on Day 4 of TT with lipo, and I couldn't do it without a family member to help. These supplies are a must: a raised toilet seat, a walker, cane, a recliner to sleep on and sit at all day, and my meds (stool softenerbought separately). I got off my pain meds and switched to tylennol on Day 3 in order to have a bowel movement. The recovery is slow, but I have no regrets. 🎉
Day 7 here, the 2nd day was the hardest for me. Now am off pain medication, but my back hurts so much!! Tummy feels very tight. Today my drain tube will be removed, can’t wait!
I'm day 14 and so much swelling I still have 2 out of 3 drains. It felt like a worm going through my stomach when the first tube was Removed. No pain. I've only had Tylenol since day 2 couldn't take the meds they wanted me to take. I think the back pain is t he worst. I hope that goes away quickly.

Great video. I am 5 weeks out and finally feel better. This was a rough process for sure! I still needed help after two weeks. I would say by the end of 3 weeks I could fend for myself hahahaha My scab did not fall off till after one month. So scar care happened for me at about 4-5 weeks
To everyone in recovery, hang in there. I’m 8 weeks post-op for a DIEP flap surgery (similar to a mommy makeover) and the recovery process has been more mentally challenging than I thought it would be. Having drains for 2 weeks was rough and wearing that uncomfortable compression garment was almost enough to drive me crazy. Eating and sleeping was very hard for many days but it slowly improved. Between 2 and 3 weeks post-op I started to develop fluid in my lungs and a terrible painful cough which is horrible to deal with after this type of surgery so had to go on a Z pack. I don’t have my final shape yet as there is still some swelling so it’s been discouraging, but I keep trying to remember it takes a while for the final results. Also it still feels immensely tight around my waist and walking normally is still difficult, so I’m really hoping that improves soon.
Good doc. I already determined if I’m gonna have any plastic surgery done. I will have done in hospital or a real surgery center. You might be getting a new patient soon.
Thank you so much for your time and information. 3 weeks post op full MMO, you gave me a realistic timeline and I know I’m not abnormal (seeing some girls 2 weeks post op looked snatched without their faja). Honestly, thank you for reminding me to be patient.

Im from South India too, Tamil Nadu. How is your swelling now? Was the tt worth it? Im thinking of getting it done.
Great video! I'm a medical massage therapist who does lymphatic massage. I will definitely add this to my collection of necessary handouts for my clients. As a massage teacher, I can also add this to my teaching materials. Thanks so much.
I'm on day 2 after my tummy tuck. When do you recommend starting the lymphatic massage?
@@tinajohnson-bv9yx It depends upon the kind of surgery one has, the immediate results (no problems), if you can tolerate etc.
I done gentle prophetic massage provided (by expert providers) starting around 2 weeks after surgery. Check with your plastic surgeon before proceeding.

This video is so helpful. I’m at 11 days count down to tummy tuck, Vaser lipo and BBL. Surgery is on 10/7/24. I’m excited but nervous. I appreciate the explanation in the different stages.
Excellent video. Thank you for explaining step by step regarding tummy tuck recuperation.
You are incredible. So well spoken and detailed!!
Thank you for the video, really help me out on what to expect after an extended tummy tuck.
My surgery is in three days and I really appreciate this video!
I’m a 40 yr old male. I go in on March 22nd. I opted out of getting my stomach muscles pulled tighter due to the long recovery and needing to get back to work ASAP. I hope I don’t regret that.
Thank you for your video!
Hoepfully you and your surgeon had a detailed discussion about the results you can expect from not doing any muscle tightening.
@@DrSchulmanplasticsurgery we didn’t. In your opinion, what negative effects could come from not having your muscles pulled tighter?
Hey, how did your surgery go?
@@cupcakepatrice8418 I have surgery this Wednesday. It can’t come soon enough! Thanks for asking
@@joshlane1041 congratulations 🎊🍾🎉 I just had a MMO plus 360 lipo on 03/11/2023
I had the perfect recovery story ever everything went perfectly fine I was never in any pain I am on day 12 I finally got my drains removed that was wild good luck to anyone who is getting the surgery or recovering from the surgery and it was rough my heart goes out to you guys
The information on this video is exactly what I was searching for. I wanted an idea of the recovery process, I have a tummy tuck with lips scheduled in 2 months. so countdown is ticking
Thank you! Having my tummy tuck in April!!
That is very helpful! Thank you
Thanks doc. Very informational to a patient who is 7 days post op.
Thank you so much!! Really needed the assurance. Soon to get a tummy tuck 😊
Look into Arnica cream and tablets. Also lymphatic massages as well. I'm scheduled on the 16th
THANK U SIR! FOR STAGE WISE INFORMATION!
Very informative! Dr explains everything so well!
I love your videos, thank you for brought me peace during difficult days of recovery. Happy new year from DR
Contact me if you want to know more as I had them all done ❤
Thank u for prep
Me for what’s to come!
I'm currently coming up to stage 3, 11 DPO, it's been tough I must admit, the compression garment is the worst.
I agree I’m stage 4 at the 4.5 week mark and the garment I hate!!!!!
I just had mine this morning.
I have a consultation this week and watching all the pre tummy tuck knowledge videos scare me 😭
We’re you ever scared of blood
Clot
?
I agree
Thank you sir for this informative information. I just have my mommy makeover on February 8th and was wondering about the process. I couldn't handle the hydrocodone; it made me horribly sick so the second day I was dependent strictly on Tylenol and Advil. I'm feeling a lot better now but I can't wait for the swelling to go down and my drain removal on Monday. I'm staying away from sodium and sticking to protein shakes, bone broth, salads and water. I'm also waiting for my breast to look and feel natural 😊.
Thank you so much for this great information!
Thank you so much for this information. I wish I had gotten this from my doctor prior to the procedure.
It's surprising that your doctor would not review all the details about your tummy tuck recovery. We make sure to go over all these things with our patients well before the surgery.
Thank you for this video. It was the exact information I was looking for
This is such a good video . I am 8 days post op. So informative
Thank you Dr., this is really good explanation👍
Great video! This info is true as I’m a year #PO from (Fleur de Lis)TT with Muscle repair! Pain wasn’t as bad as I’d thought it would be….more of discomfort! Go for it if you are on the fence I’m glad I did
@@annainna767 Can you be more specific? how did it ruin your life?
Hi- how many procedures you had?
@@claudia-wg4gd I had weight loss surgery and I had #FDL which is a tummy tuck with horizontal and vertical cut along with muscle repair….I’ll be getting my boobs done soon
As an Massage Therapist, I liked this video. Good info
Very Good information...Thanks so much
Superb narrative, thank you.
This is great information to know for me as a future surgery candidate
Thanks for this video ...I'm having a tummy tuck soon...now I know what to expect
Thanks for your advice, tomorrow I'm going to have a mommy makeover and your video calms me down a bit!
How did it go?
I'm on Day 4 of TT with lipo, and I couldn't do it without a family member to help. These supplies are a must: a raised toilet seat, a walker, cane, a recliner to sleep on and sit at all day, and my meds (stool softenerbought separately). I got off my pain meds and switched to tylennol on Day 3 in order to have a bowel movement. The recovery is slow, but I have no regrets. 🎉
❤ thank you! Great job explaining this process! I'm 11 days out!
I’m glad it helped
Day 7 here, the 2nd day was the hardest for me. Now am off pain medication, but my back hurts so much!! Tummy feels very tight. Today my drain tube will be removed, can’t wait!
Sounds like everything is going smooth ?
@@jasonj7755 yeah so far so good, only if I can’t find a way to get rid of my back pain n sleep more comfortably
I'm dealing with back pain as well... I've tried everything with no success. Did it hurt when the drains were removed?
I'm day 14 and so much swelling I still have 2 out of 3 drains. It felt like a worm going through my stomach when the first tube was Removed. No pain. I've only had Tylenol since day 2 couldn't take the meds they wanted me to take. I think the back pain is t he worst. I hope that goes away quickly.
@@anieshateague4610how are you doing now?
Very informative and explained well.
Best video watched so far
What a brilliant narrator.
I’m on day 3 after my liposuction and abex. This video was so helpful!! Thank you!
I had the abex and liposuction with no drains, I am so swollen and miserable. My post op is this coming Monday. I feel like my swelling gets worse everyday. How has ur recovery been?
@@annetteo100 I’m 6 months in and my recovery went very well. I still get bloated at times. But they said that is to be expected until 1year. I feel I’ve fully recovered. The first 3 months was hard. But was well worth it..
@@christinagarcia8599 thank you!!! Good luck to you!
Thank you for this video. I'm having a tummy tuck soon. I'm dreading it.😢
Great video.
Your so clear with your explanations thank you
You’re welcome 😊
Great video! How important lymphatic massage after liposuction and tummy tuck is please?
Thank you for the info. I will have MMO at the beginning of next year excited and scared, but I appreciate all the info so im ready
Thanks for the breakdown on this matter...🤘🏼💯✔️
You’re welcome. Excess skin after weight loss happens no matter how the person loses weight.
Great information
Good doc. I already determined if I’m gonna have any plastic surgery done. I will have done in hospital or a real surgery center. You might be getting a new patient soon.
Yes, you want to make sure the operating room is fully accredited and certified
Thank you for this educational video !!
Thank you very much Doctor
7 days post op and definitely feeling the regret. I’m glad I found this page.

Thank you so much for your time and information. 3 weeks post op full MMO, you gave me a realistic timeline and I know I’m not abnormal (seeing some girls 2 weeks post op looked snatched without their faja). Honestly, thank you for reminding me to be patient.
I have my mommy makeover in about three weeks and I am very very scared!
@kellycrowe2451 how did it go?
I'm so glad I found this video. I just got a diastasis recti repair, tummy tuck and hernia repair 3 days ago and this video has prevented me from calling my surgeon every day.lol
Glad it helped! But remember, only your surgeon can give you the right answer so don't be afraid to call them
I am having all these too! How do you feel now?
@SteenGee I feel pretty good.scars are beginning to fade and the numbing is going away.but everyone is different. I hope your surgery goes well and I wish you the best of luck in your recovery.
