Awesome video! I love these figures far more than I ever imagined I would. As a kid they were just toys and as an all grown up kid they have become a nostalgic passion, collecting, displaying, getting them autographed, creating my own.. There's just no end to the joy they can bring. These were an example of toys made right, they might have gone wrong with the marketing in the end but they really made something that a lot of people hold dear. Even now 30+ years later people are discussing them, collecting them, sharing info, ideas and displays of them. Thank you for putting out the most comprehensive video about these figures I've ever watched. I live that so many of us are keeping the passion for these figures alive! Fabulous work!
very good Video ,i enjoyed it ,will there be a 3rd installment ,that ad for deep space nine that flashed by ,was a clipping i posted once .still have several various ad clippings from toy store circulars for playmates star trek. i couldnt locate the 1701 at the time period ,the video didnt metion some things like the reissue of those in a boxed set ,also the govenor worf with the video ,which tower records sold also as a single plastic bagged figure after the promotion was over a couple years later ,or the mail aways & transporter series , hopefully in next episode ,then installment #4 covering 2009 & 2022-3 releases .thanx for your work on the video .
Hi guys loved watching your video its really informative. I have all the 4.5 to 7 inch figures releast!. except the carded 1701, bi-fold and the redemption data cards. Was the borg scorpion pill actually released or was it a custom. I've used wixiban to complete my collection. I'm a completist and its a pain being one. I even have a large collection of variants cards and accessories ones and all the exclusives and Canadian carded versions. I have 4 carded variations of the Picard locutus figures you mentioned. I got the England/ Australia Dathon figures limited to a 1000 for £6 in mint condition!. I'm presently on the 9inch boxed figures . Even though I have my collection it's still Great watching your video's incase Ive missed anything. Looking to the next video. You could of mentioned about the German boxed series 1 releases. Sorry for going on so long but I really like collecting these figure's. P.s. I've logged all my figures. What a sadO LOL.
Hey Ken! If your're referring to the diorama of Picard and a Borg Drone - yes, this is a custom made by Playmates to auction off at the Huntsville convention in 1996. The figure used in the episode "Scorpion" was just a standard 6" First Contact Borg drone (chopped up and bloodied). Sounds like you have a fantastic collection! We're still learning about new variants all the time. Oh, and we did mention the boxed German figures in part 1! :-) ua-cam.com/video/CxcFloyKdsE/v-deo.html
Is that really supposed to be a “Yesterday’s Enterprise” Tasha? The uniform is wrong-it’s a regular series uniform and lacks the collar and cuffs seen in YE.
Another great video guys! So informative, it's been great learning about this popular line of figures! Can't wait to see the next part!!
