Yes, the USSR lost almost 30 million people in our fight against the natseesm. However, it wasnt all "manpower". The major part of these losses were civilians. Because the natsees didn't just come to kill our soldiers, they came to kill everyone, every man, woman, and child. And the natsees had done so, repeatedly, burning village after village, exterminating everyone, no matter how old or young. That was what the USSR was facing. That was what we were fighting against.
Never forget.
also 1/3 of soldiers was killed not in battle, but in camps or something like it.
Russia lost 27 million people in World War II. Military just under 8 million, about 7.8. The rest of the people (19+ million) were over 5000 villages burned, starvation, disease, slavery, concentration camps.
*20 million. 27 million is a fictitious figure during the years of Perestroika. According to the most objective estimates, the Russians lost from 15 to 16.5 million people in World War II. By the way, the military losses of the Soviet Union and Germany are approximately equal.

The USSR did not fight against Afghanistan, this is your big mistake. The USSR fought in Afghanistan against the Mujahideen extremists, who were supported and armed by the enemies of Soviet Russia. By the way, these extremists subsequently became the basis for the Taliban, which were created in Pakistan with the assistance and financing of the United States and Britain.
That's true! Soviet army came to Afghanistan on request from Afgan Government.

Over 27 million Soviet people fought and died during World War II (or the Great Patriotic War), and most of them were civilians doing everything they could to support the army and to bring the victory one day closer. Every family had someone who either died or fought during that war and that is why May 9th -Victory Day is so important.

For those who do not know, Lenin played a crucial role not only "in the Soviet Union", but throughout the world. The revolution in Russia is a historically important event that turned the social development of the whole world, including capitalist countries, especially capitalist countries. The very appearance of the middle class in the West is a merit of the Great October Revolution in Russia, which showed the world ruling class how they could end their days if they continued to mercilessly exploit their peoples. It was the events in Russia in 1917 that prompted Western capitalists to partially redistribute profits in favor of the working class.
true..and I may not know much but I know this much..if it wasn't for the revolution, even in my part of Europe (Balkan) literacy and education rates would never go up, right to vote for women, electrification and so on...who knows how late that all would come if at all
We owe so much to these ppl and I am so proud of Russia integrating best parts of it long, complicated and glorious history...makes it unique and all the more reason for us to cherish it
Надеюсь, что и в этот кризис мы устоим и нам будет, что предложить для будущего Человечества.😊
And in Ukraine, all Soviet monuments were destroyed and the entire legacy of the USSR was demolished. So think about who Ukrainians are after that.
Their national hero is a natsee collaborator, they use nastee symbols everywhere, what is there to think about? they're not hiding their identity at all nor are they apologetic about it, Its westerners who took that role for them of apologetic explainers, trying to explain away their natsee affiliation with gaslighting.

Interesting interpretation of "War AGAINST Afghanistan". As I understand it, Russia is currently fighting AGAINST Syria?
I don't understand how the invitation of the USSR troops by the official government of Afghanistan to fight the rebels differs from the modern invitation in Syria? Or from the events of 2021 in Kazakhstan (except for the scale)?

exactly....westerners show pictures of Afg...or Iraq..how ppl dressed etc. or whatever and then whine about "women's rights" (as if most really care) when in fact even Hillary herself explained how they created the Taliban and why, how they used Pakistan then let them circle the drain etc...
as if that regression and all that came after it was organic when in fact they made it happen and plunged the region into abyss of violence

I visit Russia regularly as a tourist actually, every year ...up to my 5th time soon this year actually. Great to see your videos showing the other side of Moscow - that's not typically shown on our side of the world. Moscow is simply awesome, although I have not been to as many places as you have as I typically visit other places, and use Moscow more regularly as a transit point (and as short stopovers). Nevertheless, Moscow and Istanbul are my favourite "big city" fixes, for example. Safe travels, and keep in touch! If you ever visit Russia again, let me know.

the reverse "R" is pronounced as two sounds as "YA". And english "P" in russian is actually "R". And the main tricky thing, you want to call us as "rush-sha", but we never had this ROOT in our country's name - it was "rous-", "ros-", or in some rare cases "ras-". Which have many theories of origin and meanings (mostly old greek AFAIK) but imho the best one is the meaning as "the beginning, the start point or headspring". So it's written "R--o--s--s--i--y--a" there.
