Omg! 😆 I had the idea, the general idea but I was lacking on the execution: the part about advancing ( building) your army even when fighting was the puzzle piece that I was missing, woawh. Thank you~
For sure! Just beware that if you're not expanding fast, you're going to be hopelessly behind the economy of protoss. If you're making an overlord at 9, and then a spawning pool, that's the quickest you can get units without being hopelessly behind. That's called overpool, and it's a perfectly reasonable opening, provided you expand as soon as those zerglings are out. If you opt to make a spawning pool faster, say at 9 supply BEFORE an overlord, or even sooner than 9 supply your economy is terrible. With something like that you need to try and run zerglings past. In any case of a pool on 9, the next building your making needs to be a hatchery at an expansion. Making a den, evo chamber, or creep colony when you have one base and a spawning pool is economic suicide and a guaranteed loss.
I'm relatively new to brood war (really only play with friends, and we're all bad), and this had definitely been helping me get my game up. I gotta keep a leg up so they don't start beating me lmao
Hope it does man! AI protoss does a super dangerous rush with like 3 gateways. It's really bad build, but if you follow what I talked about in the video exactly you will definitely get killed by it, because the AI will walk in when you have about 4 hatches, some drones, and nothing else. If you see a player doing one base, it's usually best to stay on two bases yourself. If it's two gateways (or more) and no gas that is zealot rush. Basically you want to make zergling and sunken to survive. The hard part is not making so many lings/sunkens that your economy gets really bad. You always want to make just enough to survive. Takes practice, but you'll figure out what you can get away with. A general, very rough guideline would be 3-4 lings per zealot/ 1 sunken for every 3 zealots.
Hi, I saw your video from 10 years ago, where you did the spire first. In this case, it is best to go for the Hydra Den first and its upgrades. Then go for lair, improve the speed of the overlord and have them follow the hydras to protect themselves? According to this more modern version of ZvP, the scourges would later come along with the mutalisks to hunt the ht. But, the first objective would be to get the 5 hatchs and the hydras, right? Very good your videos, thanks
Ah the split is important! You mine and collect resources a few seconds faster than if you were to send all 4 to auto mine on a single mineral patch. :)
I saw 3 comments from 6-8 days ago, now they are gone. one said "my strat for zerg vs terran is to rush for greater spire and get guardians, because siege tanks are a primary threat to my ground forces" or something similar. I don't recall the other 2.
It's not seen too often (or at least wasn't as of about 9 months ago, been very busy since then), but I'm assuming you mean carrier/sair/shuttle/reaver combination, with possible arbiters. It's going to be a little map dependent. If it's a land map with decent mobility, sometimes a combination of hydra/defiler/spore/lurker(for rvr mineral drops) can work out okay. Queens maybe as well in some situations. If it's a land map with less mobility, or island map, then usually you are looking at devourer/mutalisk/scourge/queen with possible defiler assistance. Patience is key. Waiting for toss to be out of position with sairs so scourge can hit/surround, weakening with plague, and making sure lots of spores are down to maximize muta glaive damage.
This is Starcraft 1.18, it has an auto feature for APM. It can be downloaded free here: battle.net/download/getInstallerForGame?os=WIN&version=LIVE&gameProgram=STARCRAFT
this is an obsurdily greedy openin lol usually most zergs take gas around 15 or some shit so they can get spire > scourge for faster tech i guess if you're really good at this kinda defense it's ok
The better you are at defending quickly after starting a very greedy build, it almost guarantees a victory if you survive an initial attack. I kinda like that idea as it puts the pressure on the opponent to stamp you out in the first attack.
You need to be comfortable moving hydra away from spots quickly. Sometimes that means pulling all your army back with quick retreat, others just splitting the hydra under a specific storm away. The other part about good micro is trying to anticipate where protoss will storm and baiting him to do so, then easily moving away Outside of that it comes down primarily to practice. It's not especially easy micro. If your storm troubles are with lurkers...then it just means you have to spread them. Clumped lurkers in ZvP are usually very bad. When it comes to lings, they will mostly die to storm. The key with them is to try and surround as much as possible, combined with sending them in not all at once. If you have 6 groups of lings, you might start with one or two, then trickle in the rest of the groups just a little spaced out so each storm doesn't kill tons of lings.

I just won my first round against CPU using the first 5 minutes of the guide. Progress was felt 😄
Great video I know this video is old but I just started playing again and these videos help a lot!!!
I just bought Remastered and I love learning these fancy ZvP tactics! Cheers LMaster!
How is it coming along? Do you play ranked?
Very cool! I'm not comfortable expanding that aggressively before building units, but I learned a lot of other stuff!

@@AgencyEric Great, thanks a lot.
Thanks so much, I have been playing ranked recently and the mass-corsair has been killing all my overlords.

In the long term it doesn’t really affect anything tho.

Thinking the same. I play greedily too, less than him though, and I still die all the time to early pushes.
