It's a little contradictory that he seems to endorse the traditional phone model of corporations and government not routinely monitoring or regulating the content of phone calls, but seems to support corporate and/or government monitoring and regulation of internet content. Or, maybe I'm misreading him. As for right to be forgotten, that seems overall like a bad idea to me. If there is legitimate content on the internet about, say, sex crimes or financial misconduct, then potential romantic dates or financial partners should be able to access that. Hi everyone, Does anyone else think it's odd that Mr. Pakman isn't talking about the $1.5T dollar spending bill Congress just passed. Why would congress think it's necessary to add more money to an already overheated economy and why would they think money can solve the problems we are facing?
@@exiledfrommyself Hi exiledfrommyself, thanks for the reply. Our economy is actually very important when it comes to a functioning society. It is very important that the value of the dollar is up and our debt is low in order to promote stability. Printing too much money will devalue the currency. Did you know that printing too much money is actually an impulse control issue?
@@patmahinie5728 We need a functioning society; we need a civil society. Spending money on the things we need makes that happen. As long as we're paying the bills when they're due there's no problem.
@@exiledfrommyself Hi exiledfrommyself, I agree with most of your comment. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear like we are spending money on the things we need but rather on poor decisions that were made in the past. An example of a bad decision is the $13.6 billion allocated for the Ukrainian crisis. Very poor decisions were made leading to these events that reflect a serious problem in our leadership. Did you know that paying for bad decisions is a form of debt? It is important that the debt goes to the right people or we could end up like the people of Afghanistan and Ukraine.
No his last episode of The Big Picture was in 2017. From Wikipedia: "Hartmann hosted a one-hour daily TV show at 7 pm. ET Monday to Friday, The Big Picture with Thom Hartmann, which was editorially directed by his wife and was broadcast from the Washington, D.C., studios of the RT news network. The show featured many conservative guests who routinely sparred with Hartmann. Hartmann co-produced the program with RT, who provided studio and carriage, while Hartmann retained full editorial control of his programming. The RT network aired the program via Dish Network, DirecTV, and on selected local-origination and public-access television cable TV channels globally. After hosting the program for seven years, Hartmann announced his departure as host on September 29, 2017."

Such a stellar moment to have Thom Hartmann and David Packman together.
Classic cat cameo😸
I love the pretty cat going back and forth in Thom's background.😺
Can we also take time to compliment Thom Hatmann's cat?
