If you are crazy, then we are too, because we want to get a second FJ for my wife. Missed out on a couple already, but I know more will show up in our area. We have 2007 with a 158K miles on it, bought it with 82K on it in 2017. Safe travels!!
Awesome adventure. As a previous Land Rover driver, and salesman for 14 years, I now own a 2010 FJ with only 109K on the clock. Over the 14 years, I had the great pleasure of thrashing Land Rover factory vehicles on many off-road adventures, from the desert mountains in AZ, to the snow covered mountains in Utah. Landys will go off road with stock tires and suspensions in places where most other SUVs need heavy mods. I'll never go off roading like I did with Land Rover, but and enjoying an amazingly comfortable ride in this ikon of a Toyota. A well considered suggestion to all current and potential FJ owners: DO ALL AND EVERY MAINTENANCE, KEEP AFTER THE BRAKES AND KEEP REALLY GOOD QUALITY TIRES ON THE BEAST. I currently run with COOPER AT3'S most current model. My second set. Love the quiet ride. I call my FJ "the SUV that Land Rover should have produced". Reason is, it starts EVERY DAY. Safe motoring to all!!
Thanks for the note! When I got our FJs I replaced the PCV valves and cleaned out the oil sludge. We went from 13 mpg to 17.5. I replaced the harmonic stabilizer (fan belt driver) as is was wobbly and leaky ng oil. What I like best about my FJ (besides I can go anywhere) is that it drives and sounds like new! Thanks again! It started with us doing small puddles and graduating to rivers. It's always quite exciting!
