- East West (www.soundsonline.com) recently released Hollywood Choirs with many notable improvements over the previous Symphonic Choirs. Wordbuilder ease of use, dynamics, articulation control and overall sound of the voices enabled me to put this suite together for my Golden Age of Film Score Reconstructions in half the time the previous version would have taken. I spent 2017 recreating scores by some of my favorite composers, Miklos Rozsa, Bernard Herrmann, Dimitri Tiomkin and as study prior to starting work this year on composition of a large scale Oratorio this year. www.johnmaxwelltaylor.com

Seeing this close up of Jeffery Hunter makes me wonder, did Jesus have blue eyes? I doubt it. Being Jewish he would have a dark skin and probably black or brown eyes. Just guessing of course.

Hollywood Choirs is a big advance over EW Choirs. Much easier too use but still takes a lot of finessing. On some pieces I record live
singers and mix them in at low levels to boost articulation. Glad you enjoyed Rosza's magnificent music. I learned a lot reconstructing
King of Kings. It was like studying with a master. Make that two Masters!
This score has moved me since I was a little girl. It has haunted me all these years. I owned the album with accompanying book-classy things they did then- as well as the CD. As you probably know this score is still played by orchestras around the world as well as the choral arrangements by choirs. Not many could compose such a glorious theme for the Son of God but Rosza did! I feel his score for the King of Kings was seventy-five percent of the movie.
@@taroman7100 It has moved me too Joanie and I had the album and still have the classy book you got when you saw the film in 70mm as I did in its premiere run. I agree that Rozsa's score absolutely makes the movie. We are going to watch it tonight through our front projection system onto a 128" screen upscaled to 4k. It sounds and look wonderful like that and I can affirm that it is quite an overwhelming total experience seen as it was meant to be seen and heard on a large scale. The greatest story - simply and beautifully told.

I've been a fan of Miklos Rosza since my teenhood (I'm 65) and any new recording of his works catches my attention.
This recording looks very faithful to the original recording, even better than the Nic Rain recording in the 90's with Prague Symphony Orchestra.
I'm still awakened when some new recording of my old Hollywood cherished masters, appears on the market.
Hi Bernard, I appreciate your hearing how faithful to the original recording it is. I actually laid down the original tracks in Cubase to follow so I could be sure to get the exact tempo changes and phrasings as I played each phrase of each section of orchestra and choir as close to Dr. Rozsa's conducting as possible. Only he can bring such passion to this glorious music. Nic Rain does an excellent job on many film score re recordings but once in a while slips up. The Roman Forum in the Tadlow Fall of the Roman Empire is an example of that and missies many subtle shifts. I tried to nail that one exactly on my reconstruction and think it turned out well. After watching this movie, I fell in love with Jesus Christ. The theme music is also great.
It is the best portrayal of Christ on film. You can feel a great presence radiating from him and the music matches that perfectly.
Beautiful! Best musical version of The Lord's Prayer that I've ever heard. (At least one remastering of this soundtrack omits the chorus!)
