Do they not pay for a meal plan? They are not deprived of food and water, they are refusing to go get it. That would be on them. They are adults and are fully capable of feeding themselves. I am sure also that there are many fast food place very close. To try and use that as a guilt tactic is so disengenous. The office of campus safety has a point of not allowing anything in, they can smuggle weapons in. It only takes one person there to truly turn this into a violent situation. If students want sustenance, then they need to go back to dorm/ home. After a while they will leave to eat, charge electronics, etc.

I agree. Do I agree with what their cause is? It doesn't matter. Unfortunately, Americans have the right to protest peacefully. As long as they are not infringing on the space of others, causing disruption or destroying property, they have the right to do this.
