I 100% believe that "Racing" is it's own genre. We have a few different types of phonk that pair up with drifting and street stuff pretty good. We have bootleg and UK garage type beats for rally. Fusion Jazz seems like it was made for Gran Turismo, or to make whatever car you're driving a 930 Porsche 911 Turbo. Oh, and don't forget about EuroBeat! God I love motorsports and music.
I still don't really understand what the picture has to do with the music...? It's from the 1996 Australian Super Tourer support race at Bathurst, whereas all the music appears to be Japanese and either from the 80s or replicating the sounds of the 80s. I genuinely just don't understand.

These Japanese fellows took a foreign genre and made it theirs instantly (even improving it), at least for me it's really hard not to associate jazz with with Japan, maybe due to the abundance of it in their games, animes, movies, etc. They really have great taste.
My jap friend told me that It is a part of their education system that every child is required to play with a recorder flute at an early age until they decide to further enhance their musical journey where as they age, they have the freedom to pursuit it by joining a music club in highschool and so on.
Loved the setlist, and also the thumbnail! Reminds me so much of old days, when I used to play Gran Turismo at PS2...used to drive these type of cars in several real world tracks. Ah, also Gran Turismo had an incredible soundtrack, with jazzy songs!
I love this playlist! It's so nice to listen to! I especially love the thumbnail and image in the video, reminds me of the BTCC in the 1990s, one of the best eras for touring car racing!
This mix is so goood men, i love so much Japanese Jazz Fusion (it reminds me to Gran Turismo btw) hearing all of this in my room at the night give such of a godly vibe, thanks very much.🎷✨
Wondering the same thing. Casiopea’s album cover comes to mind alongside some other jazz fusion bands using F1 iconography or even being directly associated with F1 in some way
So whats the correlation between jazz fusion and touring car racing? Not complaining, just curious. Every jazz fusion mix on youtube has a touring car related thumbnail.
if only the video consisted of a montage of races, then this would've been a total Gran Turismo experience

God I love motorsports and music.
I always imagined classic rock, dad rock and general period music for 60s/70s/80s car racing.
I'd say DnB is good for fast paced modern racing like open wheelers or for driving modern supercars/hypercars

You're spot on. Definitely made it better, evolved it in a way. And the prevalence of jazz in Japanese media makes it more cool.
the japanese were good at jazz, but they were following the trends set by westers such as Spyro Gyra, Herbie Hancock, and Bob James
Japanese do seem to have a different, interesting approach in composing music, regardless of genre.
