I luv the travel cases from Santiam brought the 11'/12' surf 40lb class and the 5'6" 130lb halibut heavy. For East Coast weather brought hydronaut insulated jack/bibs. Great content, have to come West to fish for halibut & yellowtail. Great content and rod review should try the 11'

Well now I know we drive the same truck and were rockin the same jacket, ha ha. Too bad they quit making the 360, I really like mine but the 8fans looks good too. Try some zipper lube like Gear Aid on your zippers, it really helps.
Hello Pare. Plus one on the Santiam rod, in 2pc. - 11' 1-3oz. lure weight, 10-25lb line, Med/Fast. I have been using it off the beach for surf perch here in Oregon, plus off the jetty. Have even landed a 20lb. Ling Cod off the jetty with it. Looking forward to your Perch Pouch. That jacket could come in handy here. Malamig, lately out on the beach. Tight lines to you and the bros.
I understand your review of the rod. I was using double dropper set ups with 2-3 oz. disc sinkers, and casting didn't seem to be an issue. But it did feel like I was getting more distance from my Okuma Rockaway or the Celilo, both in MH action. The Rockaway was 12', and the Celilo is 9'. I also use that Celilo as a backup rod for Steelhead/Salmon fishing the local rivers, backup to Okuma Guide Select Pro. The Shimano Speedmaster has also been pretty good in the surf, too. But, looking forward to that Perch Pouch.

Neoprene cuffs are a nice touch, my sleeves are always wet under my raincoat
that's a big deal. being uncomfortable can really be a downer

May I ask...I've seen a lot of reviews on the 8Fans jacket...that say it is one to two sizes smaller than the size they list. Could you tell us what size 8Fans jacket you are wearing, versus what size jacket you "normally" wear? 🙂
Never heard of a wading jacket so that was very interesting! i use different rods depending on conditions. Do you think you would use the Santiam rod again or you sticking to Hawaiin?

It depends one how much you move. You can always wear a hoodie underneath as insulation. I find it to not be too warm but that’s fine for my purposes.

Not at the moment sorry. some guys have been pulling straps off of duffel bags to make it work

I see you are having fun with all the new yuppie surf perch gooferaw...I've been surf fishing for 65 years and have never needed anything but a pair of hip waders and rod and reel... You DO NOT NEED all that crap.....
Are the zippers waterproof?
More so water resistant. the insides were pretty dry but i didnt fish that hard.
