Pittsford, NY is not in the middle of nowhere. I've never been to an estate sale where there was pushing and shoving. Everyone is pretty well behaved. Thank you for posting this. I was planning to go on Saturday when (usually) the prices are lower. I may still go just to see everything but you've confirmed to me that I probably can't afford anything.
@@mostlyquilts1386 something came up and I didn’t get there on Saturday. Maybe for the best LOL. Thanks for the heads up on the donated items. I know the place and will stop in.
I went as well Nora and did come away with some glorious colored pieces and threads. i do agree with you abut being disappointed with the prices, luckily I went the 2nd day and they dropped the per lb. price to 10.00, still very high though and there was still a heck of a lot fabric left. I wish I knew what the did with everything that was left, maybe have another sale? discounted prices this time? Anyway, for the 45 minutes I was in the home, I felt like I was in a fairytale about fabric! LOL
That’s awesome that you were there! Her quilts were even more beautiful in person than the pictures don’t you think? It’s so interesting she was getting rid of all her quilting stuff. Glad you found some treasures!
@@mostlyquilts1386 those quilts were incredible!! I so wish I could have bought one or had taken a class from her years ago. I overheard some women saying Carol had retired to Fla.
Great video! it was fun for me to watch because I went to this estate sale today! Because it was the last day of the sale fabric and notions were all half off and $6/lb. From 1-4pm today it was "make a reasonable offer". The people working said that the quilts would not be discarded and Carol is taking them back, but fabric and supplies were being donated to a local craft thrift store "craft bits and pieces" that raises funds for seniors in the community.
That is so cool that you went! Did you get anything? We’re the quilt prices lower on Saturday? I should have waited till Saturday to go but I was worried everything would be gone.
@@mostlyquilts1386 There was a price on the back of the card on the quilts that gave the minimum price Carol would take for them, I only looked at a couple of them and it appeared to be about 50% of the price on them. Otherwise they are being shipped back to her.
Hi Nora! The first fabric you pulled out of the bag will be PERFECT for the Halloween quilt! The last one you pulled out of the bag may work as well. Thx for the adventure! I would not be able or willing to pay 12k+ for a quilt! Super fun video. =)
Wonderful fabric! I’d say that your adventure was totally worth it. Thanks for taking us along!
Such beautiful fabric! Thank you for sharing!
It was fun!
Great fabrics Nora, I’d say that trip was a success! 👍 Look forward to seeing what you do with them. The black and white striped fabric is very cool 😍
I can’t wait to use the black and white stripe. It could be really cool.
So much fun for you loved watching!
Nice fabrics.
neat content Mostly Quilts. I shattered the thumbs up on your video. Maintain up the wonderful work.
I love your channel name! Thanks for the thumbs up!
The yellow and orange fabric reminds me of candy corn! That could be useful for a Halloween quilt too! 🎃
You’re totally right. Candy corn colors!
Like your picks. I’m into textures right now so really like your picks
Thanks Gayle!
I was a dealer in vintage goods for 25 years. Most all running Estate sales get a flat rate and a percentage of the sales.

If you ended up going I hope you found some good stuff, I’m sure they lowered the prices on day 2 &3

Thanks for the info. Very interesting!
Google sez a yard of quilting cotton weighs from 4-1/2 oz to 6 oz, so $10/pound isn't really a bad price...
Full price at a nice quilt shop in the states is about $12 a yard at most typically. $10 felt high for used fabric.
@@mostlyquilts1386 But you're getting two-and-a-half to almost 4 yards of fabric for that $10 per pound price.
Unfortunately, Carol had a stroke. That is why all her fabric was being sold.
That is so sad. She has been such a wonderfully talented quilt artist!
