  • This is a great walk including a coffee and lunch to make a relaxing day or just do the Via dell'Amore and imagine the Romantic poets strolling on this beautiful shady path just above Bagni di Lucca. Find a perch and read some poetry.
We want to thank Mr. Valerio Ceccarelli, chairman of Proloco in Bagni di Lucca for info e maps.
Lunch place in Bagni di Lucca, good idea to book. We are not sponsored but love the place.

My family ( Biagini ) is originally from Bagni di Lucca so I am drawn to the lovely area. I hope to someday trace records and see if I have family still there! It is so sad to see the spa closed up. I was fortunate to visit twice and had an incredible experience both times. Thank you for sharing 🥰

Debbie, what part of Bagni is your family from? We have lived in the area for over 20 years and agree with you about its beauty. We all hope the Spa will be open again soon. I marvel that one can sit in the same grottos as the Roman legionnaires did. We have one of the highest number of natural waters in Italy. You might also enjoy the other videos about the area and there are many more to come. Thank you for joining us and sharing your love of the area.

I'm sorry to say my great grandmother did not tell me what part of Bagni di Lucca my family is from . I do know her grandparents Chester & Fortunata Lotti were sheep herders. The next generation is Maurizio & Carmela Guisti followed by Orlando & Mary Biagini my great grandparents who came to America. My dad always heard of relatives still there and land my relatives left. I adore Bagni di Lucca and will visit this fall! Hope the spa is open 😉

I'm glad you found the Via Dell'Amore. It was a lovely walk among the trees. Some of those villas would make a great bed and breakfast place. I am learning and seeing so much on your videos. Grazie Celia and Enzo. La Villa is a wonderful place. Franca 💖💖

Enjoyed the guided tour of the lovely area you both live in, some wonderful architecture and peaceful ( apart from the dogs barking) what a beautiful place to live in. Those hills you walked will keep you both fit. 👍

Keeping the land around our farmhouse keeps us fit, we have no need to go to the gym! The area is indeed beautiful, we are very lucky. Thank you so much for your comment.

Bagni di Lucca was very exclusive even in Renaissance Italy, it is now a forgotten gem where life goes along at a gentle pace. T

Ive had a couple of holidays in Lucca studying at one of the language schools. Sadly i had to cancel a trip in 2020 due to Covid. I have been enjoying your videos as an antidote to being unable to return to Italy from Australia yet. I hope it wont be too long now. Meanwhile please keep giving us these lovely little tastes of your region they are greatly appreciated.

A lovely insight into the Walks around Bagni. So sad that all these beautiful Villas have slid into disrepair, like the majority of Bagni di Lucca it needs more conservation to preserve these wonderful places.

It would be wonderful to see a renaissance in Bagni di Lucca. The area has so much to offer and is unspoilt making way for some many opportunities .

The greenish villa near the end of the video with the stemma above the door was, at least I always believed so, the summer residence of the Dukes of Lucca. In my time the Villa Ada was inhabited by an esoteric Buddhist group who offered courses in Buddhist healing and whatever but apparently no longer. Great to see all the paths, parts of some I have walked. Fancy all those varied waters. Bagni is sleepy but it contains much of interest so pleased to see that the Circolo still has the restaurant but not the English Club which vaguely existed in the past.

20 years ago when we arrived Villa Ada was still almost intact, and it breaks my heart to see its decline. We must do a video on the history of all the large villas but need to do more research .
