I agree. We cut, but after first pip or very late in the game. We also don't do the cut at day 50 stuff that some do. Like most things in life, it is all about balance. Also, once cut they get checked only to see if they are out, but I do my best to not try and peek in to see what they are all the time (but admit, I have from time to time).

This is what I love about you guys no matter how many amazing morphs you make or game changing combos you are not to proud to admit you are human and have had mistakes and bad things happen even if rare and far between, just so others can learn from you and do the best they can that takes a big person 😊♥️🐍 thank you so much for sharing

How are the mothers after maternal incubation? Do they lose a lot of weight? Just wondering. Thanks for your time
Haha No, it's so easy- trust me! Once you try it, your life will never be the same! You can go on vacation, don't have to worry so much about the eggs. Just let nature happen
I offer food to the mothers every 7-10 days during the incubation (search the vids on my channel). Most eat well and regain their weight

My first clutch should be hatching real real soon like a week. I wanted to cut at 55 days like most people who cut do. But I've seen more and more about not cutting because of what the BREEDER WANTS not what natural birth needs. Like would you give birth to your baby 2 weeks early just because your impatient ? No because it needs to stay in as long as possible. Same kinda concepts.

GREAT pro tips ! Waiting for the first baby to pip on it's own then cutting the rest with minimal disturbance until they crawl out is the best method in my opinion. THANK YOU for sharing your experiences with us, good or bad. Sorry about the two babies with under developed egg tooths... I think you did well explaining the pros and cons of cutting! I haven't started breeding yet, but I'm going to be in the #NoCutClub as well: which, as you know, means not cutting until pips have happened. Seems the best balance of ways to do things!

That is just sad....there is no reason for such a high mortality rate with captive breeding.
I never understood cutting until I took the time to educate myself on why it is done and how it should be done soon as one pips.
Id cut um on the days your suppose to. I will do it when I have my first clutch. Thats money lost invested on then for breeding purpose. Im glad i had all yall to learn from

Glad to see that the next generation breeders are learning what those of us doing this now for 30 years have learned by our mistakes. Wait til one pips then go get the rest unless the entire batch goes 60 days then go in on day 60. Beautiful job as always on the designers

Before I watch the rest of the video I just want to say thank you As a new breeder injesting all the knowledge I can. I have made up my mind personally how I will do mine. My way is 2 head rule or 2 or more cuts on there own before I will touch.

To me, it almost seems like having a cesarean weeks early, just because you can’t wait to meet the baby. Yes, I know that person. There’s just too many risks to cutting early, and I prefer waiting until at least first pip or their due date. Then you know they’re to term.

I think the best egg cutting technique I have seen was on Snake Discovery. All around I feel like Emily has the best technique. She waits for a pip, watches the days of course, and then she only cuts a small c shaped window, just enough to help it out of the egg and breathe. But she doesn't pick them up at all and cuts very carefully. Check her out, I think her technique is what I would personally like to Emulate.

I agree that you should wait until they begin to pip on their own. At day 55 if none have pipped I would cut a slit or two. I've been thinking about trying maternal incubation. I know Mike Porter did it with a clutch at the end of last season with great results though he did lose one egg

When you said the snake might attempt to leave the egg do you mean after you cut it you still keep it in the incubator and in the egg till they decide to come out or you pull em out ?

I glad how you can tell what morph it is 12:09 because I am very new to this. I have no snakes yet. I am doing my research first planning to get a ball python in a few months
I agree with u but even waiting till the first one pips u can lose another that couldn't get the egg cut. I like to put a slit in the egg just enough so it won't drown. It is hard waiting till they come out on their own, but breeding Ball Pythons is a waiting game so if u can't wait 5-10 days till it comes out u will be taking a risk either way.

Just have two questions, what are the best scissors to use to cut the eggs? Also after the have pipped or cut do you just put them back in the incubator until they are fully out?
