    Hi Mel, mentioning Company's Coming cookbooks put a smile on my face. I lived the first 27 yrs of my life in the Edm area -- drove by the original location of the Company's Coming facility many times on the south side of Edmonton. My mother used to love these cookbooks, she collected them until they started coming out with too many. By coincidence I see Jean Paré passed 3 days before my Ma did late 2022. I still have some of the cookbooks kicking around.

    I love when I get up in the am and make my coffee and your video pops up. I have to say everything looked good today. That orzo chicken yum yum 🤤 And the pancakes I would have never thought of using squash with it. But here I am thinking I need to get a squash and try it. I was always curious about the Maria Calendar and finally I got to see what it looked like. And that looked good too. Great video,great meals. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend. ❤❤

    Hi Melanie 🤗 Nothing better than a golden and gooey grilled cheese 😋 I love those squinch-ey noodle sounds when you were stirring the melting cheese slices. I totally remember those Company's Coming cookbooks! I see the theme for this week is CHEESE!! LOL The Chicken Orzo recipe looked amazing!! We have so many different options right now. I've never put cheese on top of goulash before, ever. When you've got a drawer full of cheese, it just seems like such a good idea. Ha.
      The chicken orzo was actually quite a highlight of the week. It was dead easy to make. I'm already thinking how else to include it in recipes.

    The lemon chicken orzo look SO good! I'm a BIG fan of soup, stew and stoup. I make oat rolls, and cornbread muffins in batches to freeze and always have with it.
    Have you tried winter squash soup? Mine is just caramelized onions, apples and squash (acorn, butternut , pumpkin), nutmeg and a little butter. It can be puree, topping for noddles, pasta or rice. Freezes beautifully. 😋
    I rescued a blender and will attemp to make smoothies! How much milk? ❤💛😊❄️

    • @adventuresingroceryland
      @adventuresingroceryland  6 днів тому

      @pennynickels5216 I just pour in enough to ensure it blends smooth. I prefer mine thinner but the handsome likes his thick like a milkshake. If you have juice, that can work as well. When it goes on sale cheaper than milk.
      Awesome job on the rescue!

    I was pretty lazy this week, too, but with bronchitis I was not going to push it. Easy crockpot meals was the name of the game for me until last night when I cut sausage, onions, and peppers in the oven and baked some potatoes in the Instant Pot. Still lazy except the cutting up veggies part. And I did extra onions and peppers so I wouldn't have to do them later this week. And one night my husband made chili out of cans and toasted cheese sandwiches and it doesn't get much simpler than that.

    Good morning! I’ve been getting up early with my cat as per vet instructions for an issue he has and I was so glad this morning knowing I had your video to watch as I sat here watching the day break. ❤ well that was barley indeed in your soup from the soup mix. Meals looked great. I haven’t had orzo in years. But that meal looked delicious. Interesting how you got the cheese slices melted in to the macaroni. Great idea. Oh those company’s coming books! Yes I have several . I’m 65 I don’t need them but I do take them out and use them from time to time to get ideas and especially the appetizer one I use to make various things up to freeze. Especially good at Christmas time . I love cookbooks. I look on internet now too but wouldn’t want to rely on just it. So for next week do what ever makes sense to you. But asking what to buy? Hmm . Well white flour. Yeast, but a bag of navy beans for baking. Buy a soup mix blend at giant tiger they are cheap. You need boullion. You need frozen fruit. So just think of restocking what you normally use . It will add up quickly. Have a safe and enjoyable time next week. Look forward to the handsome ones pictures. Lol 😆
