There are a lot of food gems in SG, well thats not surprising, Singapreans love to eat. Some famous food gems are: Katong Laksa, Maxwell buns, Old Airport Road large prawn noodles, Tanjiong Pagar market Nasi Lemak, Bukit Timah fried kway teo, bedok ba chor mee, geylang frogs leg porridge, kong siap street chicken rice, serangoon wanton noodles. Sorry some of these street names i have forgotten, maybe not accurate, but there is one restaurant you must visit, LKY's favorite restaurant opposite Raffles hotel, Cosmopolitan Hotel. As for relaxation, try Marina Bay, the new water plant, you can have a picnic there and fly kites, a lot of kite fliers there.
Taj Ananda restaurant that is located at the NTU campus! Amazing indian cuisine, both north and south indian and among my favorite restaurants in Singapore! The paneer kadhai is particularly delicious
FYI. 6:05 Pasta Bar is not located at Telok Ayer but it is at Keong Saik Road. And it serves AMAZING pastas fyi. And hey, Keong Saik is another hidden gem if you are looking for good food. there you go!
You are doing a great job dear…. God bless u You should definitely try Indian food in little India especially in Anand bhavan, it’s reasonable price & sweet shop called Moguls opp tekka centre
Do you know there's a Musical Box Museum (Circular road near Boat Quay) and also a Gem Museum (Perak St near Little India) in Singapore? They're all very interesting and informative. You need to make reservation for guided tours at both museums. Have fun exploring! 😊
Dear Swizzyinsg! A born local. Hougang central & Sengkang. It is the place where worker party held on to powers. A place tourists must not go. Dont get me wrong Singapore is safe. Community clubs. Why? It scare the shits out of certain people.
@Swizzyinsg have you try malay traditional dishes? My old time favourites ayam masak merah (Chicken with red gravy) 😋 oneday I tapao (pack) for you and spicy prawn 🤩 how bout you? Which local dishes u like beside Chicken Rice 🐔 🍚
@LC-zi8jw it is not about the correctness of the English but rather the answers to the question. A new establishment cannot be a local gem as it has not happened.

Not only about food. For nature, go to Sungei Buloh, Pulau Ubin, or Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. It's easy to get to Pulau Ubin.

Both newton n Maxwell have become touristy. Newton too many barbeque stalls, Maxwell too many chicken rice stall. Prefer Tiong Bahru instead.

Notice how the locals' accent suddenly changed whenever they talk to white folks.
Not just to "white folks". It's called code switching. Common in the workplace, especially if you work in an MNC.
