  • This is part 1 of a walk around the railway station, one of the first walking tours I've recorded to help me develop my skill and experience of filming for a later work-related project. Equipment is a OnePlus6T smartphone and a DJI OM3 Gimbal. I've not added commentary or music so that viewers can listen to the sounds of the station during the walk.
I'd love to read your feedback or suggestions via comment section.
On the day of recording, the country was in a state of lockdown due to Covid19 and travel was banned between London, Scotland and other areas. This meant that many trains were exceptionally empty at a time when the station would normally be full of passengers travelling home to families for Christmas.
Preston railway station in Preston, Lancashire, England, is a major station on the West Coast Main Line, roughly half-way between London Euston and Glasgow Central (206 miles from London Euston, 194 miles from Glasgow Central). It is served by Avanti West Coast, Northern Trains and TransPennine Express services, plus Caledonian Sleeper overnight services between London and Scotland.

The platform you entered on was originall Platform 9 and served trains to East Lancs - hence the curvature of the platform to the left (even though the line now bends to the right. Nice video - did the two security blokes question you?

Didn't know about Platform 9, thank you. Don't remember the security guards, they may have been checking I didn't venture past the barrier.
