I’ve made this basic pattern so many times. And adjusted it about as many times adding pockets, zipper pockets, loops hooks and flaps at either end to create a wipes pocket, wrist loop, and all sorts to make them more user friendly. I love this pattern because it’s so basic but allowed me to easily adjust it in so many ways. My favourite thing is to upcycle denim and mix and match it with cotton to create up-cycled works of art. Thanks for the excellent idea for a baby shower gift! I have found that if you use hook and loop tape, It is a good idea to have a cover for the hook side of the tape when the item is not closed. I saw that on a baby item. I really like the way you have combined the cork with the cotton. It does elevate the look considerably.

I just used your instructions to make diaper clutches and added 2 sided flannel blankets with mitered corners. Both new mommies loved the presents!

Can you use canvas cotton instead of regular cotton? If so, would the canvas cotton be thick enough alone and not need that backing material?
Ya for sure! Interfacing wouldn't be necessary with a canvas fabric
The ice cream fabric is that cork or just cotton?
Can you and a wrist strap on this? How would you do this
I’ve added a wrist strap to the top of all of mine. Just place it where you’d like it and see it in like I do the strap but minus the Velcro.
