Hello from UK.... thanks for your videos, I'm just starting off my journey with jazz and short videos straight to the point as yours are a great help..
thankyou for all your inspiring videos. alot of it is over my head, but such an inspiration. i love your band from this spring!! hello from tennessee, usa.
@@tinajackel hi Tina - I am ok - but been having back and neck problems that keep me from working as I would like to - damn! I've started to work on launching my own YT channel soon (in no small part 'cause of your shining example!). If you like I can keep you up and informed on my project. Thanks for ...simply being you!
I did the same. Now I gig daily with Frank, Dweezil, Vai, Prince, Jimi....it's only a matter of scares. If you jump on improvisation without thinking (better with the eyes closed), you can achieve speed & and incredible music lines.
I LOVE these kind of ideas!!! I got heavily into it from studies by my good friend Tom Lippincott, but this lesson is as good an examination as you will find anywhere. Thank you!!! I just got the PDF to work on in the morning. But, please, don't try to look like Kurt!!! The Look Of Tina and the Sound Of Tina are pure gold themselves.
Hi Tina, love the way you give some of your experiences to youtube community ! I come from the classical guitar world and now play in a francophone indie rock band. I'm trying to learn to improvise by myself and its quit a journey ! I found that there's errors in the tabs you show on this videos. Thanks again !
@@tinajackel the first one is at 1min47 on the third bar on the last 2 beat. You do the same note but at the fourth fret on the string of D and A. It looks like a bigger gap but I prefer the way you play so its easier to loop the exercice multiple time!
Most interesting.... You always make my day with new ways to thing about practicing ... thanks Tina :) Also, I see that in your recent videos, you are using a Fender Tube amp over your beloved Henriksen Jazz Amp or even the Vox Pathfinder 10 . Do you prefer the tone from the Fender over solid-state ?

so in 5:41 i show some chords that would work with this exercise that being said it’s just fourth stacked upon each other: Bb Eb Ab those notes would also sound good over a Fm7 or an Gb69 chord just experiment using different roots
Impressive and expands vocabulary considerably. On a side note, I think I had considered this particular Ibanez semi hollow when deciding I needed a semi hollow. It's an Ibanez FM93VLS , isn't it?(Ultimately, I got me a different brand, but this one was a close call for its playability and nice tone)
hi stefano! great question! there are many ways of applying them! i made a video about exercises no 3 and how you can use it in an improvisation ua-cam.com/video/FDEj8F4w8vU/v-deo.html
Thanks for doing this. Big fan of KR, but as someone who learned by ear it's really tough to figure out some of his juiciest licks. Look forward to trying some of these :)
Thank you so much for this. You’re so right about the challenge of shifting positions. Also, technique is extra challenging for guitarists because we’re sometimes caught between pick and pull off. Whereas pianists can just strike.
so true ! the left hand right hand coordination is a challenge on its own. sometimes i practice only the left hand or only the right hand ( dampening the strings with the left hand/ or not) and that helps me a lot! like pianist do too! all the best to you keep on practicing
Mensch Tina, nun hast du alles erklärt. Spiel halt mal. Ohne Kurt Rosenwinkel, Joe Pass etc. pp. Ohne „tschägg idd oud“, b5, 11/13, vielleicht noch sus, vermindert, oder die Hälfte davon? Bin gespannt.
Wow, Jazz guitarists today, sad really 😮. Just stupid patterns and dissonance just for the sake of dissonance. No melody, swing or soul. Jimmy Bruno is right in saying this…..
Tina, slowly but surely you are becoming the Big Mamma of internet jazz teachers.
Thank you for being your passionate you!
thank you Joe! i
Thank you for compiling those that's very helpful ! Love the thumbnail too 😜
