Have this with the 22mm and the kit lens. I bought a Nikon and Canon EF converter and now I can add any lens I want. Great camera even today. Great video Tim!
Still deep into the EOS M System and I love it. Using the M50 and the M3 (bad autofocus, agreed but even more compact) and several native EOS M lenses combined with EF lenses (canon adapter and viltrox speed booster). It's a real good setup, for me portability and light weight is important. Thanks for the Video, Tim. Interested in the other native lenses you would recommend.
I upgraded to the R series full frame, and in selling most my APS-C lenses, I can't help but keep the M50 & 22mm f/2 as an everyday pocket-carry. I was going to buy a panasonic, a sigma, a sony as a secondary compact, but turns out my M50 and its pancake are already hard to beat
Oh yes! My main camera. With the 18 x 150 lens as the one that stays on it 90% of the time. Stays in my car and used often when roaming about . Next are my 2 G16's. The 3 ti sits on a shelf unused for the last 3 years at least.
I own one. Maybe get a second one in the future (mark II) just as a backup. I have a lot of adapters for it that allows me to use my older EF lenses as well as Pentax lenses, Minolta, etc. Its small but with an added grip/cage its actually pretty nice.
I have a second hand M50 plus a few lenses and the one thing I would recommend is a metal cage (mine is from Smallrig) as it does protect the camera. I've liked and subscribed so please post whatever you wish about your experiences with the M50
M50 was my first camera, and is still my only camera. Been loving it, especially with a lens adapter so I can use essentially any lens I want. Two things I don't like about it is the somewhat lacking low light performance and the absolute lack of weather proofing. I am considering getting a Sony A7 for better low light and auto-focus these days though, but not rushing it. That said, it is still a fantastic camera for the price, and I do not regret getting one and definitely recommend it for someone who wants a cheap but good camera.
Solid choice if you were to change. I feel like I should add a Sony or probably more practically change for a Sony at some point. I’ve recently taken a small dive into Micro Four Thirds and now have a few cheap LUMIX
R6 mkii and R8 still have quite good low light performance. And full frame EF lenses you've adapted will carry forward. It's what I've done, and I'm planning on shooting astro and the aurora with my R8. Jumping brands is expensive if you have to take a loss reselling lenses that work for you now.
I bought in before the EF-M platform was killed, but the tea leaves were floating that way. They take a lot better pictures than I can do, and if you count M42, vintage adaptables, EF, and manual EF-M third party lenses, there are better lenses for it as any platform. And I’ve spent less for my whole bag of cameras and lenses as one “pro” R body. (Was on Iona and Mull in August, saw a dad and son with two full body Canons and lenses the size of mortars. I dare say my pictures are competitive in quality to theirs, even if I was shooting a 22mm f2 with broken focus gearing….) The only thing I hate is that the newest third party lenses aren’t getting added to the platform.
I still have it and use it mainly because i have almost all ef-m lenses so i'm equiped for every ocasion, quality is still more then enough and i would rather have great 1080p video than avarage 4k plus i don't like to work with big files of 4k so for y2b it's best even when it's older... only bad thing is they could update firmware with new features like eye detection but clearly they won't do it because canon is greedy they don't want consumers to have it on budged and that's why i'm fine to sticking with what i have
I dropped my M50 (mostly landed on the cage, but hit the lens too) and the gears broke out of the 22mm f2 a few days later. There are a couple of really good third party 25mm manual focus Ef-m lenses. I still ordered a new 22mm f2 the next day.
Difficult question and hard for me to answer as I don’t have the Sony. I’d say the Sony is more of a video camera. The Canon better for photography…. Just a quick uneducated opinion as I don’t have the Sony. And I only have the first release of the M50 too, this got updated. I will say that I do plan on getting a Sony this year.
I'm selling mine with the kit lens because I'm moving fully to sony ( I have the ZV E10). If someone is interested let me know. I also have the sigma 30 mm 1.4
@TakenByTim I'm using it for both things. The mark 1 have a mechanic shutter, wich is good for photos. The new mark 2 doesn't. I also like it for streaming. I have the 18-300 tamron wich is an all around lens. I also like that It can record 120 fps in full HD, and for the price that the camera is right now is totally worth it.
Do you have or did you have an M50?
Still have one(kit), hardly ever used. Need to get back into it. Thanks for the reminder. What top 5 lenses do you recommend?
@@fpsFAMOUS my idea is to get 55-200 and have fun! with it. Stock lens also good.
Avoid pancake, so boring one
Still have one.

Nice - that 22mm lens is great. I think mine has become one with the camera body now and doesn't want to let go!

I will be making some more EOS content soon . Thanks for the comments…
If you use the really good third party manual focus lenses (Samyang 10mm, Brighten Star 35mm, Kamlan 50mm, etc.), who cares about auto focus quality?

I’ve never tried the grip cage approach - which one would you recommend for the M50?
Yep. My main camera. Love it. Light weight and does a great job and some good lenses.
Totally agree - why did they cancel this great consumer level system.

M50 with the 24mm ef , kit lens and the nifty...you sould discover film sims or canon picture profiles..njce content man🎉❤keep safe mate
Thanks for watching. I try to take them neutral and then tweak in Lightroom. I will have a look at the film sims

Nice detailed reply. 100% agree.
I shoot that 22mm on an EOS M (original) quite a bit. Great lens!
@@aperturecollect it’s great isn’t it.

Between m50 and Sony zve10 pls which one is better

I bought it with 18-150 mm lens for 500$. Nice camera for travel
Good choice! I do like this camera but I have invested some time this last few months in a slightly smaller micro 4/3 LUMIX.
Worth watching your video
That’s nice to hear. Thanks.
Got the M100 with 3 ef-m lenses and looking to get M50 soon. So can the option to attach external mic.
So you're using for video rather than photo? Have you got a channel with videos on or an instagram?
I'm selling mine with the kit lens because I'm moving fully to sony ( I have the ZV E10). If someone is interested let me know. I also have the sigma 30 mm 1.4
I’m looking at that camera. Are you using mainly for video or photo?

My M50+22mm takes better photos than my Fuji X100vi!! No kidding. Images are much sharper edge to edge.
That’s good to know. I think this combo is great and i really like that 22mm
Wow and I almost fell into the hype… then I remembered I had this same exact combo and my pictures are beautiful and sharp!
nice man
Thanks for the visit 🥳
I love mine. Probably will never sell it. If I buy a better camera, this one will just be used by my wife or daughter.
Same here - don’t see a reason to move on right now..
I own two.
Mk1 or 2? Great little Camera and Canon’s little rival to Sony ZV range.
