none of this worked for me, but after i finished attempting all of this, i just left my pc and turned it off to go watch some netflix, and the next day when i tried again, it worked.

Legend, finaly able to update and play one of my favorite games. Wish I'd watched this before trying to delete and uninstal a 400+gb game.
i tried so much and nothing helped.
but fix for me was uninstalling steam with "Uninstall Tool" -> right click on steam -> "Force Removal" (it clears steam entries in the register).

I tried all of those options and my user is on full control but the read only keeps enabling after I click apply and OK. So not sure why it keeps enabling while my user has full control. Any solutions?

This is really late but, if its still not working after doing these click on the bottom right of your sceen where the arrow up thing is at. Then right click on steam and press exit steam. that worked for me and they started downloading hope this helps

I don't think it has anything to do with your Steam or your computer settings. I tried to connect from Steam, from a Webbrowser, and from my phone. On Steam and on the phone app, I can't connect to Google, Error 500, and on the Webbrowser I can log in, but then white screen.
In other words, I believe that is more a server issue by either Steam or Google/UA-cam. Best you can do is write a complaint or wait till the issue gets fixed by them.

So. Non was working for me, but I just uninstalled steam. And reinstalled it in the disk storage that I wanted my games to be downloaded on. For example I noticed that the steam was on "C" drive. And I wanted my games on "D" drive so I just changed it's path to D drive when re-installing. Hope this helped someone, if you have any doubts lemme know though I may not be able to help you that much.

Okay so, I tried everything in this video and nothing worked. And now, weirdly, my steam app has completely disappeared and I tried reinstalling it but it won't let me. Everytime I try to it says "Steam app is already running, close it to continue." Please I need help I have absolutely no idea how to fix this issue.

Every time I make Steam folder NOT read-only (unchecked), it just changes it back again after it completes. Even with Steam closed.
Nothing here worked for me. In fact, now I have MORE games with write error failures.
I also have this issue, randomly happened today. Not sure what's causing this.
@@misselvora49 I finally got it solved by uninstalling, and then re-downloading / re-installing the game via Steam. No idea why that worked when Steam's game repair didn't, but here we are. Good luck!
@@Darrylx444 That seems to be the only fix for me too, for already installed games. If I try to install a new one its giving the same error.
@@misselvora49 Hmm, that's odd. I haven't bought a new game recently, so IDK about that. Check your drive space, or try a second drive maybe?

Making steam run always as admin is not really fixing the issue. The issue is a windows permission issue fix that instead

If you have AVG uninstall that crap, shit was hassling me trying to download war thunder. Only do so if you are comfortable with that. But it will block you from downloading games and the only clear solution I could find was to just get rid of it.
Was literally taking all the good solutions in this video and wouldn’t let me do anything without access from administrator. Also to uninstall you just have to go to the website and type in on the search bar, “uninstall AVG Antivirus” click on the AVG .exe with the icon
