Ok, you're told to make your version of "shrimp and grits" How are you going to make a shrimp substitute? Especially when you're deathly allergic to the little ocean lice?

True original Paella which is from Valencia, Spain, does not have chorizo nor vinegar. There is mixed paella which has chicken & seafood; but it is not the original one. But this is a rice that she has created and calling it paella.

This is why I stopped watching the Food Channel 15 years ago. this is a pathetic display of paella making. Whoever this woman is she should stop ending every sentence with a question mark. I'm trying to forget that I even watched this. She's probably a nice woman but as a slave to the Food Network they make her do stuff should she has no idea about.
As confident as I am in the kitchen, Paella is a dish that has always intimidated me to make. Hopefully this summer I’ll finally give it a go.
