It's is a great game isn't it. I took my time the first time through then did a second run for the "speedrun" achievement and no upgrades at the same time, just like I had done with the blind forest, it's a great challenge would recommend :)
Watched this with the GF who loves Ori and i had no idea what was going on but the commentary made it all clear. Skarfelt and Sickynar thanks for the great speedrun/walkthrough/intro
By the time i got to the 1st boss, you've beat the game. Wtf! Music is amazing. The journey this game takes you on is fantastic. The visuals are breathtaking and the story pulls at your heart
I love this game so much and have beaten it on all difficulties 100% many times now. The replay ability of this game and the original are extremely high not to mention the epic sound track and amazing story. This game really deserves the recognition and the amazing speed run community it has. Also great run showing off some pretty cool tricks!
Well, I'm not an expert on Will of the Wisps, but since nobody else answered, it seems like this game has at least two "any%" categories for every one of the three difficulty settings. Typically the "any%" category just means "finish the game (with any amount of completion)" as opposed to "100%" or "low%" (get/do the minimum possible amount of things). But here they differentiated between "out of bounds" and "no out of bounds," probably because going out of bounds (outside the intended play area of the game map) makes it faster but a lot of people didn't want to do that. The categories also differ between difficulty settings, because setting your difficulty to "easy" means you take way less damage and deal way more, so you can perform some skips which are impossible on normal or hard difficulties (like swimming through poisoned water instead of doing story things to make it not poisoned). Once again, this probably makes it faster but changes the route so much from the intended path that some people don't want to do things that way (or just want to speedrun on the other modes for a change). So this run is "any% (easy, no oob)" which means it doesn't matter how much of the game is completed, it's played on easy difficulty, and the runner has to obey the boundaries of the map and not glitch through walls into the void. Otherwise, any glitches are allowed.
Huh, guess I've been mentally misgendering Ku this whole time. I didn't even know she had been gendered, but I just pictured them both male for some reason in my head.
Runner introduction starts at 0:09
Run starts at 0:39
Daily recap starts at 53:22
Commentary is provided by Skarfelt
Mr. Game & Shout is host
Both the runner and the other guy speaking are awesome together. They definitely made the run lot more enjoyable.
"This brand new technique called Wave-dashing"
Oh no, we need to save the Forest from being infested by the celeste
Wavedash is such an overused term in a ton of games
The process of cutting onions takes exactly 36:50 min!
I would never want to speed run this beautiful game. I would want to enjoy every second of it.

If anyone says to you games can't be art, show them this one.
I had close to zero context for that end cutscene and it STILL made me cry
Just with the music and with what is happening, its enough. It is so touching
This was the first game to make me cry in years. Best part was the first game made me cry in the very beginning.

Beautiful game, awesome run and great commentary!
Glad you enjoyed!

This game is breathtaking
Well it is if you don't Speedrun it
From all the "skip" mechanics I understood maybe 10%. How do people find these is beyond me:) Awsome run.
wait what there is a skip to not save ku ?, what kind of monster invent that ?
Ku slow ori fast
The same kind that kills the animals because they need a frame handicap.
It's OK because that's the part where she gets knocked out so by not saving her you skip her getting hurt and put into a coma
This is a stellar run. I did this in less than 4 hours but I ain’t touching this 🤣😂😂
this run is so much cooler that all that out of bound bullshit
True this is the actual skill here
"yeah"!
Omg i love that game🥺❤️
I know right
This was beautiful!
Great game and a great run, and the ending and story are very good and sad. Such a beautiful game in and out.
I'm surprised the name "wavedash" doesn't come from Celeste, the two techniques look very similar
Celeste? Don't you mean Melee?
Wavedash is an extremely overused term is so many games at this point. I guarantee the story of the game dev naming the technique is 90% bogus
@@starcubey Both. Melee invented the term, and Celeste named one of its techs after it.
Literally the best little indie game ive played
Indie? This is published by Microsoft lol
Game was made by iam8bit studios though. So it is an indie title.
@@GoKerseeee Published not made by.
@@mr.marine149 Moon studios made it. Iam8bit just published it on the Switch.
Late to the party, just finished both games. WAY TOO SAD :(, absolutely amazing games.
This guy is like God or something
Y e a h
Rip Shriek he just cheesed her
Not rescuing Ku :(
what is that super high jump trick?
If you're reffering to the sentry jump, its done pressing sentry and swiping up with a weapon in a time so that Ori gets boosted very high up.
Sentry Jump :)
GDQ always impress me😋
him 35:50 me looks at comments to see if theres an easier way to do any tricks
Can somebody explain the categories of speed runs to me please? And what category is this run?
