Ok so I’m a recent graduate who studied Journalism but I’m applying for jobs in Marketing, advertising and Journalism. I’m so stuck on what to write in the personal profile side, as I’ve only done part time work in hospitality at the moment. What do you suggest I do?

Often HR people do not look at CV at all, this job now is automated, and robot would not process your CV if it doesn't find the word " Skills" and required skills in this section. If you do not have section Skills your CV would not be processed

However I wasn't able to continue as they wanted me to work late shifts and I had to put my education first :( During lockdown I wasn't looking for any jobs so didn't apply for any, however this advice was essential in helping me with my personal statement for universities, so I am very thankful!! its prefeerable to send it as a PDF doc , so it stays intact , cuz for example if u have word 2013 and the reciever has word 2007 then the doc will change like some words will get attached , some phrases changes places.. smth like that. its based on my personal experience

Great video! Would just add to make sure you use correct spelling, grammar and spacing and check multiple times. How you write on your CV says a lot about you. and how good or bad you would be as potential employee. You don’t want potential employers to think you are unprofessional.

@@alanastone5241 Well, considering they probably are speaking English as a second language and probably want to teach English to non English speaking kids, then I am not sure of the need for the spelling police for a single misspelled word
Do you have experience of creative cv's? Cv's tailored specifically for employers looking for creatives, architects, artists, designers??? Is the process of creating a cv the same no matter the profession? Ive got it into my head that standing out rather than using the usual standard format also works, im not saying it does, because im not getting any feedback but have seen examples of hand drawn CV's, A3 sized bound leather book type cv's. I worked in a small architectural studio of about 3 to 4 and at one point the whole studio was asked about expansion and what we think etc and we saw saw different types of cvs some with lots of images of portfolios etc.... Basically my question to you guys do employers at creative studios/offices also look at the usual structured types of cv's that are word processed in the usual font etc.... Im at the point right now where im toning down, reigning back, going back to basics and using your examples and hopefully building on from there also saving time in just thinking about the content rather than layout / images etc. Just wondering if youve seen a successful "different" type of cv? Or how about when portfolios are involved, and samples and links are required to be sent? Oh man so many questions now...
