When Kazakhstan belonged to Russia, young Kazakhs were forced, by the Russian Empire, to leave their homes and fight 35 years until their total massacre. The story of one of these young people, who desperately marches into a war that is not his, besides the sadness of leaving his parents, elders, with no one to take care of and the certainty that he will never see the mountains (“tau”) of Kazakhstan again generated this wonderfully sad song! In addition to Dimash's talent, we have a wonderful ambience and two fantastic musicians: Olzhas - Master in playing Qobyz (Kobyz, who looks like a violin), the other who plays “Pau de Chuva”! A supernatural journey to the plains of Kazakhstan, through Music!
So happy you understood what the song is about, the backstory, before reacting! Yes; makes a huge difference. Samaltau is one of my FAVORITE Dimash performances. More Dimash please?
This was a very enjoyable reaction and analysis. I appreciate that you took the time to research the songs background. Dimash was invited to participate in the Tokyo Jazz Festival this year on his 26th Birthday on the 24th of May and was very disappointed when it was canceled. However, it was reinstated as an online festival, and he took part from his music room/studio in his house in Astana, Kazakhstan. As you correctly pointed out, the back story is important in interpreting this experience. This song is based on the writings of a young Kazakh who lived with his parents and family in the mountainous area of Kazakhstan when he was forced into the Tsar's army to fight in WWI. He had never been out of his own little part of Kazakhstan. The sounds of those ancient instruments represented the sounds of nature that he loved so much -- the wind, the howling wolves, etc. He's being forced to go fight in a war he does not understand for a Tsar to which he feels no allegiance. He misses his homeland and family as he marches to war, and he's wondering if he will survive the battles and be able to return to the homeland he loves so much. If you are interested in learning more about what the song is about, here is additional information: www.iias.asia/the-newsletter/article/time-ordeal-story-1916-revolt-central-asia As you already know, Dimash is from Kazakhstan, but more specifically, he is a native Kazakh. Kazakhs are separate indigenous people from regular Kazakhstanis. They are the original Nomad tribes from the steppes; some still live as nomadic people. Dimash is a direct descendant and lives traditionally with his extended family and they keep all the cultural traditions. It is custom that the firstborn son of a family is given to a set of grandparents to raise for at least 10 years. Dimash was entrusted to his paternal grandparents, and they raised him to be highly confident in himself. They raised him to believe that God had a great plan for him, and he should pursue it and dedicate himself to that plan with his entire being. The kobyz, played here by Olzhas Qurmanbeck, is a 5,000-year-old, traditional, sacred instrument in Kazakhstan. The kobyz or Kyl kobyz is the most ancient bowed instrument on earth, widespread among the Turks, Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Bashkirs, and Tatars. It became the basis for most of today's bowed instruments worldwide, including European instruments such as violin, viola, cello, and contrabass. The Kyrgyz variant is called Kyl kayak. The instrument is carved from a single piece of wood (typically apricot), juniper (arsha), maple, pine tree, or birch. The instrument consists of three parts: head (base), middle (base is keude), and lower part (ayak) and usually measures 60-70 cm. The resonant cavity is usually covered with goatskin, reproducing a sound representing the animals of the steppe. It has two strings made from horsetail hair, one to provide melody and the other resonance. Someone explained that one string is made with 75 horse hairs and the other with 60 horsehairs. The strings are not pushed down to a fret but are played with pressure applied by either the fingernail or the pad on the finger, and the tones are varied by the pressure of the bow. The bow is shaped like an archer's bow, and its string, made with 40 horse hairs, is tied to both ends of the bent branch and affixed with strong threads of camel wool. The other instrument is a Kazakh side-blown flute called a Sybyzgy, traditionally played by shepherds and horse herders. It is made from apricot wood or the wood of mountain bushes and makes the sound of birds. The rainstick is a long, hollow tube partially filled with small pebbles or beans with small pins or thorns arranged helically on its inside surface. When the stick is upended, the pebbles fall to the other end of the tube, bouncing off the internal protrusions to create a sound reminiscent of falling rain. Here it is used to imitate the sound of the wind blowing the grasses of the Steppe. The instruments on the wall are various styles of Dombra plus a Jetigen, a 7 stringed Zither, and a drum. LYRICS (from lyricstranslate.com): Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake, What days await me as a soldier, You keep coming into my mind from time to time, My amazing homeland, where I was born and raised
I wasn't riding; I was walking, Even slower than walking, Been strolling for 15 days In the direction of Omsk
I'm at the age of two cycles, the year of the cow By the will of Fate, I went farther away Mountain breeze, my amazing country, you're left behind From the hollow field, we are the only ones
I had parents, Of progressed age, Since this song was written, It's been 16 years.
Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake, What days await me as a soldier
I learnt a lot from you in this video about emotional expression and how meaning is communicated. Thank-you, because this is such a huge part of loving Dimash. ❤️
I have listened to three of your reactions to Dimash and it's has really helped me learn so much in such a short time when it comes to natural ability, skill and technicality of his singing. Thank you so much.
Thanks so much for sharing your reaction and analysis of this, one of my favourite ever performances from Dimash! There's just something special that happens when he sings in his native tongue, that transports us to this whole other world of passion and fear and meaning that you so obviously "get" here - it's almost as if he's just opening his whole self up to be channeled by these ancestors who so want and *need* their story to be told, in a way so pure and real that seems effortless on Dimash's part - that he's simply putting his vocal cords between his breath, and their message? You'll have to excuse me, just this one gets me all philosophical and deep in ways that get kind of poetic! The fact is, that before I stumbled across Dimash some three years ago now, my playlists were full of pop, rock, and R&B, always in English and close to the UK/US/Canadian mainstream - and boy, has my whole musical world been turned on its head! And now, there's no going back - I mean, why would I even want to, when I can have all of THIS?! So, thanks again - and may I ask if you'd kindly react to my favourite duet from Dimash, «Ulysse» with Aida Garifullina? It's a stunning operatic duet that captured this non-opera buff's heart, but remains criminally under-reacted to on YT despite my many efforts, and the song's utter GORGEOUSNESS! (not to mention, that of the two protagonists!) But one of the many, *many* great things about his music, is that whichever of his performances you pick, you can't really go wrong! - and his versatility is just out of this world, I promise you...😊💕
I think the musician behind Dimash is turning a rain stick upside down and then turns it upside down again, letting the little things inside trickle down, sounding like rain.
Thank you for reacting to one of my favourite Dimash songs. Yes he truly puts his soul into the performance. Please react to his new video’The story of one sky’. It’s difficult to watch because of it’s scenes of war but it is a masterpiece.
@@musiccecilia7718 Agree with the above suggestion of The story of one sky. But I think a lot of reactors are having copyright issues with it. So holding off for a while may be wise.
Thank you so much for this insightful review. You and Dimash have so much in common in being piece and humanity Ambassadors, so you should check out his "Story of one Sky ". Dimash composed and performed himself in that MV, or may be given better to see his live performance of this song on his "Stranger" tour. If that is not a cry for help for humanity I don't know what else. He should have gotten an Oscar or Grammy for that. Sadly the music industry is so commerciakused and self involved these days that independent but no less talented singers like Dimash go unnoticed by big bosses of the industry. Did you know that Dimash quite "World Best" competition despite being a lead winner just to give a chance 2 younger musicians , as he felt it is unfair to compete against children.
This particular performance of this amazing song is absolutely my favorite of all of the country-centric pieces he does. As a group they are all phenomenal, but this one just gets to me in a way that I can not even describe, but it penetrates my soul for sure.
This rendition was performed during the quarantine from Dimash’s home studio with two musicians. The instrumentation and The Dimash voice creates an atmosphere so mystical and enchanting, he is a master of story telling and takes you to that place where the story occurred . The gentleman playing the Kobyz is master Olzhas Qurmanbeck, the best player in Kazakhstan 🎻🔝 Kobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre. The Kobyz is the first stringed instrument ever. ❤️🎤🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏💙💛
I'm an 82 year old retired singer/songwriter/performer/teacher who has been a "Dear" for over 5 years. Your analyzis and commentary of this song and performance is the best I've ever heard. Thanks for your reactions to Dimash. Interestingly, many times when interviewers have asked him about his vocal techniques and wide range, he has said that he doesn't want his audiences to think about those things. He says he is trying to create a magical moment when they can experience the emotional beauty of the story and of music. He never talks about his range and techniques.
Thank you for the compliment! I haven't heard of that particular interview, but I think I would agree with the sentiment of his answer. An artist has done their job if they created a moment that the audience was enthralled in :)
Amazing reaction my friend Cecilia!!...Dimash is the best male singer of the world (In my personal opinion)...Now I want to invite you to meet, who is considered like The Fourth Element of All Time Vocal Trinity (with Whitney, Mariah and Celine) and one of the Best Female Singers of the World...The passion and dedication when Dimash is performing a song can only be compared with the person who has influenced him to sing leaving everything on stage: His idol, the queen, the incomparable, the Goddess: Lara Fabian...She is a lyric soprano with a amazing vocal range and incredible breath control...She speaks and composes in 5 languages and sings in more than 15 languages....That's why she is the inspiration for Dimash and several singers around the world...You can see covers of her songs on UA-cam made by singers of the stature of: Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Polina Gagarina, Forestella, Julie Anne San Jose, Laura Bretan, Katherine Jenkins, Sissel Kyrkjebo, Floor Jansen, Diana Navarro, Giulia Falcone, Morissette Amon, Gabriel Henrique, Rimar, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan and others...Please react to her songs, all masterpieces, in LIVE versions, because Lara is more impressive when she sings live, so you can see why she is the idol of Dimash...Try to do it in this order and almost all songs are from the same Lara’s concert “From Lara With Love” in Montreal 1999, one of her best works: 1) Je Suis Malade (Singing in French)...2) Caruso (Singing in Italian)...3) Je T'AIME (2002 Live version in Paris Singing in French)...4) Perdere L'Amore (1999 Live version Singing in Italian)...5) Adagio (1999 Live version singing in english)...6) Broken Vow (1999 Live version singing in English)...7) You are Not From Here (1999 Live version singing in English)...8) Quédate (1999 Live version singing in Spanish)....9) Ti Amo Cosi (2019 Live version Singing a trío with Dimash and Aida Garifullina)....I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Lara...Here you have the link of her amazing performance of the song “Je Suis Malade”....ua-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/v-deo.html
So happy to see someone reacting to this one! There are so many reactions to SOS or to Stranger, but not many to this. It's my favorite Dimash performance. Much more scaled back than most of his, but feels so personal.
Words cannot describe Dimash's talent. The more you listen to him, the more you realize what an anamoly, what a truly unique artist he is in the history of music. Songs like SOS, Stranger, Ave Maria, Unforgettable day, Adagio, Ikanaide, Sinful passion, and so much more. However he recently released a new song called The Story of One Sky and it is just...cannot be described, it must be felt with the heart. I highly recommend you listen to any of those.
Great reaction , analysis and explain . Thank you . Next one maybe the new song " The story of one sky " ( story about the war and life of people) or one performance from 2017 " Daybreak " . Chinese song based on a true story sad , but full of hopes . For me is another masterpiece of Dimash . With love from Bulgaria ❤️❤️❤️
hello Dimash reacts his new song is "History of a new sky." His musical composition dedicated to peace is a masterpiece, Dimash's acting quality is enormous, the message is hard and real, so real that it touches the deepest entrails, lays bare humanity and is an emotional earthquake that invites reflection and to take charge of building a better world.
You are right that breath must be deliberate because 99% of the time you never hear him breathing. Very nice reaction/breakdown :) P.s If you are particularly into his more cultural songs, try Dididau ua-cam.com/video/Ra4v19Rp6cQ/v-deo.html - its a great performance from the Bastau concert and its a super famous kazak folk song that just about everyone in the country knows. There is also a lot of people playing the kobyz in it too, and they are wearing traditional clothing. And Dimash is certainly letting his emotions guide his singing in it too! You can tell the song means a lot to him.
Hi please react to Dimash "The story of one sky" because the song is very epic and mind-blowing please react to it bcoz you are the only one I know who can explain to it briefly.
Thank you for sharring great info ❤️ When u get to "The Story of One Sky", please do research firsth as well .. most people gets overwelmed by the song and video (and needs to listen/view several times to comprehend) Greatings from an old Danish Dear and Angel 🌷🇩🇰❤️
Happy you’ve returned to Dimash, but while these choices are amazing there are still so many textures and techniques to his voice you have not seen! Including his female soprano operatic style or his bass. If you want to see his most operatic performance check out Ogni Pietra. However I’d recommend starting with SOS and/or Stranger :)
Oh thank you for the suggestion! Yes we will be adding more videos on Dimash to the Channel soon, with more of his vocal fireworks and more suggestions from followers! Thank you for checking out the video! ❤
please react to his performance of "SOS" from the chinese competition tv show "The Singer 2017". It should have been the first song that introduced you to him, it was his breakthrough song and performance that took off his international career. I really hope you can react to it for us, if not that then "Sinful Passion" (Moscow Concert Version). These two performances are a must to watch of his and I feel like you havent watched performances of his that have really showcased all of his colours and range, please give one of those or both I listed a watch, I am sure you will be blown away as an opera singer yourself.
Thank you for your reactions ! You still haven’t heard him fully use his higher head voice or even whistle range though… Please react to Ave Maria, Sinful Passion, Stranger, SOS, Ikanaide… any song of his where he sings as an altino (Ave Maria has the purest sound imo). And please react to Unforgettable Day Gakku version where he uses both high head and whistle registers. This part of his range is worth listening to.

You should check out recent duet of Dimash with Placido Domingo The Pearl Fishers Duet. Wonderful! Just released in December 2023. On Dimash UA-cam channel.
I commemorate with mercy Mustafa Çokay, one of the Leaders of Turkestan, who started the struggle for the Turks under Russian rule to gain their cultural rights in 1916, during the last periods of the Tsarist regime in Russia. Samaltau Story is Very Deep and Sad.. I Suggest You Research It..
hi Cecilia :) why you keep reacting to his "lower"songs? you better go straight to his more impressiver performances: SOS 2021 version Stranger Olympico (very operatic) Adagio Daybreak (bastau 2017 version) very sad and emotional lionel richie HELLO cover (hi made it his very own song) Know Across endless dimensions Queen Medley Show must go on..... all of those are killer performances. I'll wait your reactions very anxious. HUGS!! ☺
I will for sure! This is just the beginning! I just really love to acknowledge his story telling as well as his vocal acrobatics :) I will be doing a “bigger sing” of his next! ❤
Thanks for this review, very insightful but I wish you'd shown the subtitles, so much more feeling when we see the story he's telling Please add analyst to your title, I usually avoid these because of the mostly unnecessary chatter ... some of us just want a reaction and comments in general, not here for singing lesson
Information for those who haven't heard anything about Dimash before.👇 Dimash Kudabergen, a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, living legend, genius singer, one in a million, no, one in a billion, the best vocalist in the world. With 23 years of classical training, he has become a unique vocalist. he has become an international phenomenon since 2017 when he was invited by Hunan TV as a wild card in a contest for professional singers in China, “I am a Singer”. His first appearance in the contest gained 600 million viewers in just few days. Apparently, Dimash begins to be exposed internationally since then,. His actual singing career at the international level itself had begun many years prior to the contest.his song has accumulated more than a billion views on various platforms. Simply put, he's a mega star in China, his fan-made video of Dimash just eating something has over 250 million views. One of the stars in the Andromeda Galaxy is named after Dimash Qudaibergen. A group of Chinese Dimash's Fan/Dears did that in 2017 through the project Name a Star( p4cmardu30.blogspot.com/2017/08/one-of-stars-in-andromeda-galaxy-is.html) . Unfortunately, they don't use UA-cam in China, so he doesn't have as many subscribers on UA-cam as he actually does. He has 8 million followers on Chinese Weibo. He has an amazing musical education, all the technical details he sings and uses, he knows how it works. He is musical perfection. There is no technical detail that he doesn't have, no one has ever had such talent and skills, he can be bass, baritone, tenor, counter tenor, alto, mezzo soprano, soprano and so on, he sings in 15 languages,( ua-cam.com/video/xG3Uz0ObSkU/v-deo.html + Japanese ( ikanaide song) he has the biggest range . He sings many genres, opera, pop, rap and so on. In addition to the talent that God gave, the work that he did is amazing.he has extraordinary and rich style which he also uses geniously in matching the vocals according to the song’s requirements. This makes people realise that he has extremely unique interpretation ability. Dimash always manages to deliver songs into a whole different level. Be it his own song or cover song from different singers. Off the stage, Dimash lifestyle is another source of attraction. In the showbiz world where many artists practice poisonous lifestyle, consuming drugs, alcohol, and addicted to nightlife, Dimash is praised for practicing healthy life. He does not smoke, nor he does drink alcohol or consume drugs, nor does he go clubbing. From the age of 5, he dedicated his life to music, did everything to develop it (swimming in the pool, breathing control, range, healthy lifestyle)He is an amazingly humble, warm simple man, apart from his musical excellence, as a person he is an amazing person.Dimash once quoted his teacher, “No matter how successful you are as a singer, it won’t mean anything if you do not succeed in becoming a human.” This young man then humbly said that he was actually still struggling and sometimes had to fight with himself to make the message come true. Dimash also has exceptional stage presence. He lives everyday life with his family humbly. He is a humble, polite and shy young man, but on stage he turns into a very confident and charismatic figure. Dimash turns into a very dedicated type of performer. He never runs out of passion from the first to the last note of the song. It reflects on every little gesture of his body, hands, and eyes. People who see him in live performance often say that Dimash sings with his whole body. That’s what Goodrich called the economy of movement. His songs are exceptionally complex both technically and emotionally, he is able to properly develop emotion in music both vocally and artistry. As i say Dimash knows very well how to develop emotion in a song, even professionals can't hold back tears while listening to him .ua-cam.com/video/fd_voAuVtX4/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/NFjzS8IkNHU/v-deo.html . in terms of vocals, there is a class in China and another in England where her talent is the main subject of the music degree. ( ua-cam.com/video/O0cmTPvxXAw/v-deo.html) Dimash has fans (called dears) from 150 countries around the world. I'd say his fans are special because we don't love Dimash because he has good looks (well, he's very attractive and cute) or because his performances are fun We love him because of the talent he has, because of the work he has done almost all his life.his loyal fans makes his first album reached the platinum level within 37 seconds and triple platinum within one hour. Dimash fans are willing to fly across the continent to watch Dimash sings in his concerts. The statistics of purchasing concert tickets reveal that the audiences are from more than 60 countries and the tickets are mostly sold out. He deserves everything. There is no other singer who can be compared to him, he is at the apogee of development. He plays 7 instruments, loves the culture of his country and wants to introduce it to the world. Dimash has been declared a "National Treasure" of Kazakhstan...He is the cultural ambassador between China and Kazakhstan...Dimash is 6'3" tall. Dimash named as global ambassador of the world’s largest distributor of donor medical equipment and charitable aid ( en.dimashnews.com/dimash-kudaibergen-became-the-global-ambassador-of-the-worlds-largest-distributor-of-donor-medical-equipment-and-charitable-aid/?amp).As I already wrote, he is very educated, he is still studying. he has 2 degrees in classical and contemporary, and on the way to a doctorate in musicology.I will say here that, like in other professions, education in music is very important, you can sing notes well, but you don't understand in details how it happens, Dimash is at a high level from this point of view, he knows exactly what, how and in what way he does it.Dimash has an incredible range that no one has ever had, full range 7.7 octaves, from G0 to D8.( ua-cam.com/video/7mo_MJbGSjw/v-deo.html) ( D8 whistle note , off the piano) Dimash sang the highest note. Before anyone jumps out at me and tells me there are a few people who hit a higher note, I'll tell you that they just hit those notes without control, and Dimash sang from C#8 to D8 with vibrato for 5 seconds. ( ua-cam.com/video/LL9e0uIhXtU/v-deo.html).I hope you won't have a hard time seeing the difference.I will add here that Dimash did this in front of 150,000 people. He Has very good details, staccato, distinctive vibrato, rifs, melizens, vocal acrobatic, glissando, crescendo, dominoendo, long notes, breath control, correct tesitura, Able to develop emotion properly, fit roles well . Uses professional technique, Italian Bell Canto technique. In his song it feels like he is a professional even without high notes.Unfortunately, as always, geniuses are appreciated late, this guy deserves much, much more recognition, I hope the time will come and he will be properly appreciated. he is the best, not because he sings high notes and has a great range, but because he enters the soul with his song and you feel something you have never felt before. .But if we consider it from a technical point of view, in this case too Dimash is the best. As vocal teachers and professionals say, his singing is technical perfection. They also say that Dimash is the best vocalist, Before someone tells me that no professional has said this and gets on my nerves (I've read such comments), I'll leave the links here as proof. ua-cam.com/video/XWXRttL9Hxo/v-deo.html . ua-cam.com/video/j4wTSGe8BGM/v-deo.html . ua-cam.com/video/bKqfWIdOPOY/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/8gdLKUUDSRY/v-deo.html youtu.be/sY-T . A classical singer claims/admits that he is the best vocalist in the world ( ua-cam.com/video/pjNygCXOCz0/v-deo.html) , The singers are saying that they are happy to live in the same era as Dimash. ( ua-cam.com/video/AlfL_m2qakU/v-deo.html) , ( ua-cam.com/video/01sc1Gma1lw/v-deo.html) ( ua-cam.com/video/_uSy5T4WZto/v-deo.html). "I thought I could sing everything ... until I met Dimash" - Ken Tamplin 2019 .( Ken about dimash ua-cam.com/video/Q57tkFkXhgg/v-deo.html) All this in order to understand by whom Dimash is recognized as the best vocalist. ( by high level professionals) . On 5 December 2019, dimash Kudaibergen was awarded "Best Vocalist in Classical Music" and won a Special Prize for "Discovery of the Year" at the Russian National Music Awards "Victoria" that are considered the Russian equivalent to the Grammy Awards. Dimash's parents are singers, his mother is a soprano, his father is a singer and also a producer, as far as I know, Dimash's grandparents are singers, so from a musical point of view, Dimash has good genetics, he has a natural innate talent, which he developed after 23 years of work, and we have a unique singer in front of us. I will leave a video here as a bonus where Dimash sings one of the most difficult song (even for female "queen of the night") just to warm up and have fun, Dimash sings F6 like it's nothing, plus added vibrato ua-cam.com/video/2cwPBxrQxgU/v-deo.html - ua-cam.com/video/NYiOR0nKXTI/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/users/shortsx0e_qMS3ibQ?feature=share . Dimash has a distinctive and unique head voice, he can sing 6th octave notes with head voice, I don't know any other male singer on earth who can sing F6 with head voice like it's nothing. Several vocal teachers even said that Dimash sings better ( in head voice) than soprano singers. ( ua-cam.com/video/pAedZ1tLFzg/v-deo.html) Everything I wrote here about technique and vocals is a fact, confirmed by professionals, and not my subjective opinion. If someone (I mean pathetic haters) decides to argue with me that he is not the best, talk to me with facts, not your subjective opinion. P.S I will leave here the link of Dimash's channel, it would be great if you subscribed to it ua-cam.com/users/DimashQudaibergen_official9
Dimash just released the "Story of One Sky" music video and it's a masterpiece needed to see in these humanitarian crisis times!
Yeah, you need to react this one. Bring tissues.
If you are interested in learning more about what the song is about, here is additional information: www.iias.asia/the-newsletter/article/time-ordeal-story-1916-revolt-central-asia
As you already know, Dimash is from Kazakhstan, but more specifically, he is a native Kazakh.
LYRICS (from lyricstranslate.com):
Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake,
What days await me as a soldier,
You keep coming into my mind from time to time,
My amazing homeland, where I was born and raised
I wasn't riding; I was walking,
Even slower than walking,
Been strolling for 15 days
In the direction of Omsk
I'm at the age of two cycles, the year of the cow
By the will of Fate, I went farther away
Mountain breeze, my amazing country, you're left behind
From the hollow field, we are the only ones
I had parents,
Of progressed age,
Since this song was written,
It's been 16 years.
Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake,
What days await me as a soldier
Thank you so much for the additional background!
Thank you for your detailed comment and reaction to "Samaltau"!
Wow! A great analysis! Thank you!
I learnt a lot from you in this video about emotional expression and how meaning is communicated. Thank-you, because this is such a huge part of loving Dimash. ❤️
Thank you!
You only hear Dimash breathe if he wants you too. It’s always to serve the story. My word I love him.
Yes, I love how expressive his breathing is!
The string instrument is a Kobyz. It is played by a real Master. Olzhas Qurmanbeck. Who also is a close friend of Dimash.
Thank you so much!!!
@@musiccecilia7718 you should really look up about the instrument… it is really special & said to be the 1st stringed instrument
@@lolawants2008 I will for sure! Maybe another video about the instrumentation will be in order!
increible dimash es el principe saludos desde mexico
I have listened to three of your reactions to Dimash and it's has really helped me learn so much in such a short time when it comes to natural ability, skill and technicality of his singing. Thank you so much.
That's awesome!
The flute-like instrument is called a sybyzgy ..
Samaltau is a so beautiful song and Dimash is sooooo good!! 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
Dagestan, Ukraine & many places can relate song to this today
Thank you for reacting to one of my favourite Dimash songs. Yes he truly puts his soul into the performance. Please react to his new video’The story of one sky’. It’s difficult to watch because of it’s scenes of war but it is a masterpiece.
I’m getting a lot of requests for this one! So I will for sure add it to my list! Thank you ❤
@@musiccecilia7718 Agree with the above suggestion of The story of one sky.
I agree, it’s incredibly expressive!
Что мне нравится в ее реакции, так это то, что она понимает, все что слушает. Браво 👏
Though I do definitely recommend you check out:
SOS (Slavic Bazar or the Chinese competition show)
Sinful Passion
Stranger
Hi from KYRGYZSTAN 🇰🇬!Thanks for your reaction! Please reaction premiere video clip Dimash-The Story One Sky/Official video
It’s crazy too cuz you have yet to see him really hit his true head voice, his falsetto or his whisper tone. Wait until you hear his D8…
thx for great reaction and analysis
Words cannot describe Dimash's talent. The more you listen to him, the more you realize what an anamoly, what a truly unique artist he is in the history of music. Songs like SOS, Stranger, Ave Maria, Unforgettable day, Adagio, Ikanaide, Sinful passion, and so much more. However he recently released a new song called The Story of One Sky and it is just...cannot be described, it must be felt with the heart. I highly recommend you listen to any of those.
Надо слушать все песни Димаша
Great reaction, please do under one sky, would love to hear your interpretation. Thanks
Modern Music has lost the magic ,focusing on catchy beats over art and beauty , Dimash is bringing art back to music

Dimash is most amazing when singing of his homeland.
No, Kazakhstan doesn't have good songs, so he sings the best Russian and French songs.
Really just not true! All his Kazakh songs are sublime!
You are right that breath must be deliberate because 99% of the time you never hear him breathing. Very nice reaction/breakdown :)
P.s If you are particularly into his more cultural songs, try Dididau ua-cam.com/video/Ra4v19Rp6cQ/v-deo.html - its a great performance from the Bastau concert and its a super famous kazak folk song that just about everyone in the country knows. There is also a lot of people playing the kobyz in it too, and they are wearing traditional clothing.
And Dimash is certainly letting his emotions guide his singing in it too! You can tell the song means a lot to him.
sure you know more then the culture impressive
Thank you for such a great reaction and commentary!
I had to subscribe.
I love your perspective ❤️.Also, you are helping me understand & appreciate this song more
I'm so glad! Thank you for your support

Pls react to Dimash's newest song called The Story of One Sky, its a truth madness
Dimash is the best!!!!
He is a perfect man. I know his mom. She gives him the best education❤. And of course she also a perfect woman❤

Hi. The string instrument's name is kobyz. Omsk is located in Russia.
please react to his performance of "SOS" from the chinese competition tv show "The Singer 2017".
Nadie como Dimash 💖💗🌻
Some of us are very interested in what lies behind the music...makes it much more meaningful.
Dimash the best
Thank you for your reactions ! You still haven’t heard him fully use his higher head voice or even whistle range though… Please react to Ave Maria, Sinful Passion, Stranger, SOS, Ikanaide… any song of his where he sings as an altino (Ave Maria has the purest sound imo). And please react to Unforgettable Day Gakku version where he uses both high head and whistle registers. This part of his range is worth listening to.
The nearest pronunciation of the folk instrument is kobyz, because in English there is no one of the letters similar to the native.
Thank u for your correct pronunciation of Kazakh words🥰😘

Information for those who haven't heard anything about Dimash before.👇
Dimash Kudabergen, a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, living legend, genius singer, one in a million, no, one in a billion, the best vocalist in the world. As i say Dimash knows very well how to develop emotion in a song, even professionals can't hold back tears while listening to him .ua-cam.com/video/fd_voAuVtX4/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/NFjzS8IkNHU/v-deo.html . in terms of vocals, there is a class in China and another in England where her talent is the main subject of the music degree. ( ua-cam.com/video/O0cmTPvxXAw/v-deo.html)
Dimash has fans (called dears) from 150 countries around the world. In his song it feels like he is a professional even without high notes.Unfortunately, as always, geniuses are appreciated late, this guy deserves much, much more recognition, I hope the time will come and he will be properly appreciated. he is the best, not because he sings high notes and has a great range, but because he enters the soul with his song and you feel something you have never felt before. .But if we consider it from a technical point of view, in this case too
Dimash is the best.

I will leave a video here as a bonus where Dimash sings one of the most difficult song (even for female "queen of the night") just to warm up and have fun, Dimash sings F6 like it's nothing, plus added vibrato ua-cam.com/video/2cwPBxrQxgU/v-deo.html - ua-cam.com/video/NYiOR0nKXTI/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/users/shortsx0e_qMS3ibQ?feature=share . Dimash has a distinctive and unique head voice, he can sing 6th octave notes with head voice, I don't know any other male singer on earth who can sing F6 with head voice like it's nothing. Several vocal teachers even said that Dimash sings better ( in head voice) than soprano singers. ( ua-cam.com/video/pAedZ1tLFzg/v-deo.html)
Everything I wrote here about technique and vocals is a fact, confirmed by professionals, and not my subjective opinion. If someone (I mean pathetic haters) decides to argue with me that he is not the best, talk to me with facts, not your subjective opinion.
P.S I will leave here the link of Dimash's channel, it would be great if you subscribed to it ua-cam.com/users/DimashQudaibergen_official9
