- The Baldwin St & Highway 407 carpool lot is currently under construction in the Town of Whitby, and will provide connections between GO and DRT buses. We check in on the construction site to see how work is progressing, and detail the features of this future station.

Great for cars, but the pedestrian signals and sidewalks seem a bit of wishful thinking. Why they wouldn't have pressed to put it on the north side closer to residential and commercial (Tim's!) developments is strange. That location is quite desolate and exposed, and probably will be for some time.
Why does GO keep building so many park-and-ride lots? They slow down the highway bus services without providing any meaningful transit access to the local area. This one is particularly insulting because it will eliminate a bunch of stops within Brooklin which people can currently walk to.
And even if you're catering entirely to people with access to cars, it's better to have _fewer_ park-and-ride lots, so the bus is faster and people are therefore more likely to drive to it.
Please come take a look at the new GO station at 404 and Bloomington in Aurora, it opens Monday!

UPDATE: The carpool lot is not open yet (as of October 2)
UPDATE: The carpool lot will open on January 3 and will be served by DRT route 302.
It’s nice that you returned to this series. Are you only doing Canada or also the USA for Building Transit?
For now only the Toronto area, but I might expand it depending on travel restrictions
