Best analysis. There seems to be a lot of wisdom in the judgement. Surprisingly no other channel has put it in such a clear manner. Hope people who are whipping passions would understand the intent of the judgement

Thanks Shekhar ji. I am finding good quality journalism here again and again.
One of the most balanced analysis on the Verdict so far..!! You simplify these complicated issues with amazing ease, 'Cut the Clutter' is thus an apt name for your episodes..
I used to follow him on tv talk show for last 20 yrs.First time I liked his analysis.
So for 20 yrs you followed someone whos views you didn't like.
Nicely summarised the verdict. Let us hope that we will move forward in communal harmony. As said by SG “Kal ki bath chodo “and let us pave the way for a brighter India”
The endings like this is why I love watching this episode.. 👌👌
I have to admit I don't like Sekhar Gupta - haven't liked him for a long time. Having said that, begrudgingly, I have to give him kudos and express appreciation for presenting the Ayodhya verdict in a simple and easy to understand manner. It is concise and without embellishments. There is no emotion rabble rousing or innuendo. Thanks! Great job.
And that's why u need librerals or else it media mayhem all day
Nation has confronted history and moved on but when Will Muslim Accept the fact that Muslim rulers were Oppressive to non Muslim?
Being a Banarasi I am not Saying to take down Gyanvapi Masjid but I wanted Muslim to accept the fact that Aurangzeb Attacked Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
Do not talk nonsense. Do you want more riots? Just move on.

Sir atleast in india we have given 5 acres of land for muslims and atleast appeased them
But Ramnakali Temple was destroyed in Dhaka and was not even restored or land given back to Hindus
Muslims have always destroyed thousands of Temples for thousands for years
But I don't understand why journalists and activists question the muslims about their acts of violence....still continuing to this day

It took 491 years and 50+ generations to legally pray at one of the holiest site of the faith of a billion+ in their own and only country. The site that was violently annexed and was tried to be converted.
Now flip this story around and imagine if this had happened to another faith. How much tolerance would we have been talking about.
Good analysis and positive review, thank you. Time to put this behind and focus on development issues.
PM Modi has shown great statesmanship and trying to bring all communities together. So far ( first 12 hours ) all looking good and hope it continues. Given that people have criticised his reluctance to comment off the hook and immediately on other issues, they should recognise it when it is done.
There were many people pushing Modi govt to bring an executive order to meet electoral compulsion. Thank god he did not go down that way and waited patiently for proper procedure to be completed. Well done 👍👍👍
After listening hole day so many people and anchor on TV news I think this is the best explanation of the judgement in shortest possible time a genius

Shekhar Sahib....
The Logic by Justice Gogoi ...cuts the clutter very well indeed... .. and comes down hard on all parties involved...
1. Archeological findings are ruled inconclusive in this property dispute
( Hindu Faction Lawyers get a huge black eye , India Archeological Investigators also get a huge black eye ,
So do Muslim faction Lawyers as there was evidence of Non Muslim architecture below the Mosque floor
but findings did not address ( stayed silent ) if this Architecture was a temple or if there was evidence of temple destruction... )
2. Faith does not count on a property dispute ( Hindu Faction Lawyers get a black eye )
3. Inner and outer courtyard distinction is rejected as " subdivision does not determine a title" ( Muslim lawyers get a black eye )
4. Allahabad High court ( 2010 ruling ) is ruled totally off base ( Huge Huge Black eye for Allahabad Court Justices )
// Supreme court said " Allahabad high court had no business delving into partition of disputed land ,, Its ruling defied Logic, and defied settled principles of Law on property Title disputes ".
This is as bad as it gets !!!!!!!!!
5. So the final judgement was decided on
" Muslim faction lawyers could not clearly prove / establish sole possession
of this site 1558 to 1827 and beyond " Thus Muslim faction lawyers get a Black eye.
Hindu faction lawyers had demonstrated that Hindus had
prayed all over the 2,77 acres
including inside the dome as long as anyone can remember.
Score a big one for Hindu faction lawyers.
So court decided you need a judgement that is " workable ".
since 150 years of litigation was going nowhere.
Remember... The 2.77 acres in question is totally surrounded
by 65 acres under Central Govt ownership. ( That would be Amit Shah !! )

Question - when in 1991 law was passed with Ayodhya as the exception had the Indian govt at that time made us the mind that temple will be constructed there in the future?
Loved the way you broke it down! Truly decluttered the issue for me! Thank you, sir!
Then why reservations when discrimination was done pre independence?
A very good analysis....presentation was easy to understand. The SC decision has to be explained by the government to the people of India, in their vernacular languages, in a non emotional and objective way so that the healing and closure can take place. This approach has a lot of positives for moving forward as a nation.

I wish the court should have also ordered day to day hearings in the Babri Masjid demolition case.... the judgement would have become more equitable.
No, the order under 142 doesn't become a law. In fact the order given under 142 , can't be used as a precedence, for other case/s.
The present generation of Indians all religions included should not be blamed for what their ancestors did,
All around the world places of worship were destroyed- changed to churches, temples , mosques cause we had kings and emperors then who did things to control their empires. After 1991 all places of worship should be preserved as it is
all these years of fighting and finally there's peace. People must understand that everything is sorted out with time, so there is no need to fight for such things cause one action leads to another and would keep on going for long.
I think this issue had been sort out and may not become a mess if the desicion had been taken on in the 50's 60's or 70's .
I got the answer for my question at 14:35
Thanks for bringing alll the details of the verdict in such a concise manner.
As long as the 1991 law to protect ALL places of worship (Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Buddha etc etc) without any bias or prejudice is ruthlessly maintained, everyone should be happy about this SC Verdict on Ayodhya. Nirmohi Group may feel defeated, and Muslim's may feel "half succeeded". One glaring mistake I believe is this: Instead of talking about "Building a Hindu Temple at THAT site" SC should have said "That disputed piece of land in Ayodhya now belongs to the Govt of India, to be a Transferred to a Trust in about 3 months, with the Rules & Regulations in place to manage. It can be used to build anything (a hospital, temple or recreation facility or anything else) as per the wishes of the Simple Majority of the Trustees". Bc in a Secular India, SC can't support the building of a Temple which is the place of worship for the Hindu Majority. Now, it appears SC panders to the feelings of a particular Religion (Majority Hindus). This could have been easily avoided. This is a Dispute on a piece land. Not to decide WHAT should be erected on THAT land. SC did not think through this distinction, IMO... But, I am happy now the matter is closed... Let's MOVE ON with our lives.... Peace Be Upon ALL of US....

Great analysis Sekhar. While the media goes harping on legalities with hair splitting lawyers dwelling on legalistic paragraphs you’ve gone about it as your usual self of a perceptive journalist, almost a social scientist. The paragraph quoted on historical oppression is the most illuminating part of the judgement indeed. How I wish to have a Nelson Mandela type Reconciliation Movement to mitigate all sense of injuries of the past.

The law created in 1993, keep structures intact, Muslims did not follow that in Kashi and Mathura. They built an additional structures.
One can illegally occupy land and use it for own benefit then when the authorities come to vacate it the illegal occupants gets compensated at some other place. Good

SG, your analysis on this issue was really refreshing. Helped me declutter myself.
Wanted to hear your opinion very eagerly
Who is the looser in this historical judgment of Ram Mandir? Let we talk about who are the winner first. The main winner is the BJP and RSS who were the pioneer in demolishing the 500 year old Babri Masjid taking laws in their hands and are now getting full possession of the Babri Majid and political gold mines for the next 10 years until the Mandir is completed and inaugurated. (ii) Almost all the political parties who have no guts to take side of Muslim minority who has been marginalized just for the sake of not loosing Hindu votes. (iii) Few Muslim political leaders who got new platform to bring Muslims in their vote banks (iv) the five SC justices who accepted the Government's dictates to frame and approved the unjust verdict will surely get lucrative postings after their retirement, and now let see who lost? Of course India's secularism, Constitution and Unity did suffer very badly but among all the main looser is the prestige, reputation and image of the Supreme Court of India. The worst it has created historical precedent of demolishing non-Hindu religious place first by goons and then use AAshtha to convert it into a Hindu religious place. No one knows whether the goons who have demolished the Masjid will ever be punished or rewarded.
What an interesting conclusion. From 1528 to 1856 there was no prayer while India was under Muslim ruler and there is proof of prayer between 1856 to 1949 while it was British rule.

It's not possible.
Every case is different with different situations, different settings, different history.
@@manteshsharma3863 yes but only in court.(which ever court they can)

Well said. .sir
The supreme court even though aware of the wrongs committed by Hindu groups who mercilessly demolished a heritage structure under public glare with photo and video proofs of the incident have ruled in favour of the perpetrators.
It could have done much better in its judgement.
Handing over the disputed property to the benefit of the law breakers who knowingly and wilfully committed a crime is a gross aberration of justice. By this ruling, the law breakers have gone unpunished.
The Supreme Court could have confiscated the disputed property and ordered for a botanical garden in its place without any structures whatsoever being erected on the disputed property. By doing so, neither the Hindus nor the Muslims would get the disputed property. The beneficiary should've been the general public.
With the present ruling, the Hindus will have to live forever with the guilt of demolishing a mosque to build a temple in its place. This will go down in history. Moreover, there are no proofs that a temple existed during the 12th Century.
The Hindus could have used the surrounding area to build a temple or whatever while some land nearby given to the Muslims as compensation.
This would have created greater bonding between the two religious factions. This is what courts must do to promote secularism within the nation. They must punish the guilty and impart justice to the innocent. I did not see it in the Ayodhya case.
If I were the CJI, I would've ruled as per above. 😊
The parties that went to Supreme Court were Hindu & Muslim led by their resp. organizations the case was decided on the basis of Property. 🙄
Structure over prevailing structure- Clears the path for Varanasi and Mathura I hope.
I think that's not possible
Supreme court ordered status quo for religious structure of course ayodhya was exception...
'History and its wrongs shall not be used as instruments to oppress the present and future'. If that is so then why do we still have caste and religion-based reservations? Would greatly appreciate your comment on this Shekhar sir.
ok so they gave 5 acres of land. Will they also allocate money for the building of this new mosque since the older one was destroyed?
