Commenters need to remember, just because hes a pro, doesn’t mean he’s perfect, pretty sure he’ll tell you himself that he’s trying to improve his shot consistency, his form tends to change somewhat frequently even when wide open
I think honestly it has more to do with the anatomy then him not being perfect pg has a 7ft wingspan so his arms can only go so narrow before it starts to bring tension into his shoulder this is why usually point guards with relatively shorter arms are better shooters curry Kyrie Steve Nash Trae young etc point guards with longer arms are usually average to below average shooters ja russ Drose etc
"Perfect" shot form doesn't exist, there are guidelines one should generally follow especially when they are learning but that's all they are, guidelines. Haliburton, Jokic and in this case PG have what some people would consider "improper" shot form yet still drills 3s at the NBA level.
The gap is not too big because his shot comes off his index finger, and not his middle finger. If his shot came off his middle finger, his middle finger would be flicking to the right affecting consistency but with his index finger he can keep it straight in a line while shooting despite the elbow difference
Paul George knows what he’s doing he was gonna make the shot anyways
