Hey buddy. I’m half Thailand and half Cambodian Khmer. I can speak both languages about 80% and understand it. I live in Seattle, Washington working full time for Microsoft in I.T. I plan on moving to Thailand and Cambodia to live full time and I plan to travel and explore Vietnam. Hopefully I can meet up with you when I travel to Southeast Asia this coming September 13th.
Your body knows it, even if your conscious mind doesn't (yet). Last year I lost 15kg within a couple of months from stress working a corporate job, I could only sleep for 3 hours each night and could hardly swallow anything, my body was constantly bracing for danger, my mind was stuck in the war zone. I made the choice of moving back to Vietnam after 10 years in Europe, Africa and other Asian countries, to connect to my roots, to slow down, to explore who I am, to heal. It may be a lifelong journey, but a few months in and I know it's the right path, for me. I hope you'll come to embrace your Viet identity too, as I'm working on it right now.
I am an Australian Chinese. Live in Australia for 35 years and raised 2 great boys. My marriage broke up in 2017. Met a great Vietnamese lady online and moved to Vietnam in 2019. Never looked back since. The only thing I missed is my two good boys.

Dude, we're all struggling with something...and me too currently. You got balls to leave Canada high and dry so I am sure you will make it happen here in VN down the road, you are in good progress. Best
I was like you growing up as a kid in the US, being ashamed to talk Vietnamese in public and lost my connection to my Vietnamese roots…that was until I visited Vietnam for the first time. Since then, I’ve been back 4 more times and I plan to visit every year now. Something about being in Vietnam brings me peace of mind and fulfillment that I can’t back here in the states. Someday I will go back and live permanently or for 4-6 months of the year at the least
I'm glad you followed your heart. It takes a strong and determined person to do what you did. Your happiness, physical and mental health is very important. I hope things work out for you with your journey in Vietnam.

The calling - it's the feeling as if I belong there kind of thing, or come home. Best of luck in vietnam bro, might go there at the end of the year. We should link up if I do 👍
It's always a good idea to reconnect to your roots. As a Vietnamese living in Canada, I'm aware of the micro-aggression. Then I started learning more about my roots and embracing my culture more. If we reject a part of ourselves, any part including the Vietnamese part, we will feel very weak because we are hating ourselves. Accept ourselves unconditionally. Be beautiful, be yourself! Good luck on your healing journey!

Hey Bro, I was in vietnam for backpacking and I think it transformed me from an introvert person to someone who is more comfortable chatting with people. You are looking great now, Vietnam food is super healthy, light in seasoning, lots of vegetables, low in salt and oil. I am sure you will get even stronger than before when you are here in Vietnam.
I feel you man. I went through the same thing. Started out with a few small spots and then they became larger and in different places on my head. Stress from work caused it. I had to train my mind not to care about work so much to alleviate the stress. Eventually, my hair grew back in 6 months. I realized that stressing over work isn't worth your health.
Hey bro I understand the situation. I live in Surrey, Canada and understand what is happening in here as a foreigner in other country. Thankfully I have a family and have a good good life in here. I will come back home Vietnam for a vacation. Hope to see you and we can go “cà phê” alright
Im vietnamese, I left VN when I was 13 years old and spent 20 years in Germany. I dont belong anywhere, Im not German, but I also dont really fit in VN, I cant even handle the trafic there. But then I think, why should I choose to be vietnamese or german ? I can be both. I dont belong to any of those, but I can live in both countries, speak both languages. In Germany right now Im making like 8000 euro / month, and im planning to invest in Vietnam, maybe 5 months just vacation in VN and 7 months working in germany. Working in germany can be really stressful and I dont want to wait until 67 to start living my life.

You can always go to most Asian countries. They are relatively safer than Latin countries. As an added bonus, most Asian countries are quite affordable to live in. Rent and food are relatively cheap compare to Western countries.
Despite all the challenges in Vietnam including weight loss, diarrhea, hot weather, your hair naturally growing back is in my opinion a miracle! The fact that simply going back to Vietnam/return to your roots helps treat your alopecia areata is even more fascinating because treating alopecia is not that easy, it takes lots of time, money and effort, but it still goes nowhere.

Champa were the native of modern day south vietnam. North vietnam part was one of the oldest unoccupied land. The kinh people are who modern day vietnamese are. About 85% DNA composition of vietnamese and were originally from South China region. The kinh are one of the east asian ethnic group that moved to SEA. They then annexed Champa and mixed with them. Made them have same name, culture, language as us. The kinh people have similar DNA sequence as the ethnicities of south china.

But I’m happy to see you made your journey to come back home. The motherland Vietnam welcomed you and healed you, beginning with your body. It might just be utter nonsense but I hope when your Vietnamese getting better, you connect more with the locals, the culture, the history… then you’ll find peace in your heart. Good luck on your journey bro.
A friend of mine in Paris once said to me : " You're a banana, yellow on the outside, white on the inside. " As a Vietnamese growing up in the Westwern world, I think there's some true to that statement. I'm very proud of you , Peter. Keep being who you are, and doing what makes you happy. You're not making a mistake or being selfish. You're taking charge of your life because at the end of the day, no one else will do it for you. Be well. Be happy.
Vietnam is the best place to live or retire because of the cheap living costs and friendly people!
How much is a'lot of money in Vancouver?
What did you do for work in Vancouver
Beautiful!
Respect my Viet bro. Now you have something to hope for.
May I ask how did you get a long term Visa. TIA
Bro, nothing but respect for you. Hang in there, keep grinding!
Ive been binge watching your videos, and I have a question... Are you making enough on Adsense to support yourself in Saigon? What other sources of income do you have??
Maybe you have mentioned that in another video, but I missed that.
What steps you have to do to move to vietnam to live. The vietnam visa only last about 3 months
So what you do for woek? How do you ewen money?

Well my boi, you got a Vietnam citizenship and you're good to go
I felt out of place even in my own country.
South East Asia saved me…
Good video. Be truth to yourself.
Welcome to my homecity bro 😁
So many doors opened up for people if they just stop worrying.
Left NYC for VN 6 yrs ago. Do I like it here? Im not sure. Its cheap, safe but also poor, overpopulated, crazy traffic, no English. Thailand is a lot better
i want sell my house in usa and move to vietnam..
Good luck on your journey of self discovery
You’ll be back to Canada
Vietnam just short term thing
You’re moving to VN and just spend money or work for a company to live by then they will leave you alone. If you’re starting a company then you will taste the reality.
I know why you got that patch and I know why it grew back... and if you go back I would think it would come back.
how do u make friends there?
Say yes to everything put yourself out there
I guess you're a Vietnamese who's born in Canada. I hope you can cope and adapt to their culture.

You look Vietnamese to me.
Buddy, nhìn khuôn mặt bạn thật sự giống một người gốc Việt, đặc biệt là đôi mắt.
Eat healthy and focus on health

@@brokethehabit I am in Vietnam myself. Mid 40s, but from California. I left USA, in 2008 fc. Taught all over Asia. Settled in Vietnam 2019, freedom during covid, married 2020 long time friend, built a beachfront house in nha trang 2023. To me Vietnam is freedom.
What do you do for money? A lot of poverty in Vietnam
Home is where the heart is. People come home for love and happiness, not for money.
@@nguyenhoanganh4586 I completely understand what you are saying. I am currently in Bien Hoa. I also have a military retirement. I’m just wanting to know how others earn money in this country. No disrespect intended
@@mrlongbone2667 I am planning to go back to Vietnam next year. Personally I have to have enough money to financially support myself for at least a year or two before I can get a job and earn money in Vietnam. Similarly in the US, you need to have enough money in the bank to financially support yourself for at least 6 months to a year-roughly over $100K, in case you don't have any job.
Em rất đẹp trai
Cheap cheap cheap to get 😼 is why.
You don't even know who you were? Then live in Vietnam for 2 years bro the you will become a true Vietnamese like the local. 😅
Homie started bring about that race, you lost your credibility and now you need to count how many keester hair that each vietnamese gov employees got?
You must be really stressed to develop that bald spot on your head. I know 2 business men that had that and they are in big businesses and they hit some hurdles in their life.
You should take DNA ancestry test to see If you're actually 100% Vietnamese.
@@altran1125 I know a lot of modern Vietnamese are mixed with Chinese, Hmong, Loas, Cambodian and CHAMPA ethnic groups who are actually the TRUE NATIVE of Vietnam country. We all know Vietnamese origin are from China.
You made a big mistake!
There are no mistakes in life, just lessons.
@brokethehabit dont let the haters drag you down. This guy is just a troll. You’re inspiring man
he can comes back to canada anytime,,, he is still young , he wants to explore the world,,, especially his home land
He IS young. Naivety and life experiences are the keys. Just hope that you ARE happy, inside out 🤝🙏❤
Don't listen to this clown @sacausa. Hater gotta hate. Go explore and live life to the fullest.
That lose hair came from stress.
Do you realize why you fall in love with Vn? Because cheap & easy living. Besides that. No future there with lot of reasons. Good luck to you dude.
