What a lovely idea! I have read all Rosamunde Pilcher's books; some I've read over and over again, because they are so atmospheric and they carry me off to a world that no longer exists. I was so sad when Rosamunde passed away. We never met, and yet I felt I had lost a friend. Her spirit, thankfully, lives on through her stories.
gorgeous. the shell seekers is my favorite book - i've always joked that i want to be rosamunde pilcher when i grow up lol - i reread it every march. my rite of spring. it means the world to me.
rereading The Shell Seekers again and it still makes me cry & now I miss my mom too. I gave her this book to read & asked her "who does this remind you of?" and she said, "Me! Penelope is me." I said "yes mom!" We shared many books, but this one will always be my favorite. September is a wonderful book also, the 1st of Pilcher's that I read. All of her books are great. and her sons books in the style of his mom's, I enjoyed too.
I have read many books over the years, but if I had to choose just one book to make me feel whole again, The Shell Seekers plus maybe Cider with Rosie is the one. Life seems better after I've read it xxx😊🌹♥️
I am lost for words. Isn't it amazing how much interest has been created, how the exhibition has created a kind of community. It really is very inspiring. It fascinates me how a concept that emanated as a story, in this case Rosamund Pilcher, can have such far reaching effects and can bring a set of people together
Thank you for this video. My book club is discussing The Shell Seekers tonight and I was looking for background material. This was very helpful. I was wondering if the book had inspired any artists. Obviously it has!
I read the Shell Seeker about once a year. There is a sweetness about her words that are comforting & loving.
Shell Seekers is such a great book. I love the central character, Penelope, and the fantastic details of the landscape etc.
Very fitting, thank you for sharing. The book and film so touching.WCL
