When it comes to an actual fight, it really depends on who makes the first move immediately. Diavolo's Epitaph would allow him to see what happens in the future and King Crimson would allow him to see The World stopping time and what and where it will strike giving him an escape from Dio's attacks. For Dio, however, if The World stops time earlier than King Crimson erasing time, that would mean that by stopping time everybody and everything else will be in a temporary stop til Dio's time would be up so Diavolo would not have time to evade Dio's donut punch.

I kind of like the idea that gold experience requiems ability would be to revive people from the dead (even if only temporarily) and not to revert negative actions. It is a far more balanced ability which makes him easier to implement as a character in stuff like the video games and what if scenarios. It also would allow for an ending kinda like this where DIO comes back and helps win which I think would be pretty cool.

This is quite canon, Araki said that if Dio had the chance to learn of Giorno’s birth he would have murdered Giorno’s mother and foster father and raised the boy himself

This is Diavolo canon death where DIO learns of Giorno and as he leaves them he kills them to follow Giorno in his fights, helping from the shadows. When the big fight appears he's been training this entire time to conquer the sun by activating a hidden feature of the stone mask. If combined with a red aja you will conquer the sun. He isn't immortal like Kars, but he's damn close.
Explanation for not dying in P3 = He secretly knew he would lose the fight so by the time he fought them he'd already have conquered the sun. When Jotaro watches him turn to ashes it's DIO using ZA WARUDO to escape as Jotaro turns his back.
