"Re" is a nicer way to abbreviate Reinsurance and it's become a rather standard naming convention across the industry. But for sure it's not so obvious until you find yourself working in a reinsurance company.

Why do you say 'Re' and not R.i? Or write the whole phrase out so that it's obvious?
