MrNJersey: Building a beautiful boat in under 25 minutes. Me: Here's the flat pancake of a ship I've done in 5 hours - It floats if waves are not too high and looks like child's drawing.
Radek Zatloukal haha, don’t worry I’ve only made a few creations however they are properly built. Just play around and you’ll learn! Don’t rush, just experiment, and have a look at other creations to see the mechanics! Good luck :)
Great video! I've logged hundreds of hours in Stormworks without even trying the career/survival mode. Between you and Frantic I think I'm about to launch one.
Thomas Hagan I was in a similar situation to you, I decided to try it out and I it’s really fun. I would definitely recommend it. Good luck when you start!
Looks like an awesome starter boat. I would try encircling the hatches with an open custom door frame to make sw think your lower hatch entries are in enclosed spaces(and stop the water from glitching through). Though then it may fill up in heavy weather. And/or add some bilge pumps to clear out your accumulated water.
So I'm new to stormworks and bought it for the 1.0 update. Im clueless when it comes to building so I'm going to watch this and follow your steps to build my own(similar) boat. Hopefully it teaches me the ropes. Cheers.
a quick tip: use the modular door frame to separate the inside and outside of your hulls (you might be able to make a canoe like this), the downside is you need ways to drain the water that splashes in the hull.
once I started watching you I from then on started using your videos as tutorials, even with videos not meant for tutorials, you still go through the steps on how to build your ship. Also, Thanks for the Survival Series. (I've been waiting for so long)
Honestly this survival series will be the perfect thing to introduce me properly to 1.0, since I'm not familiar enough to most of the mechanics of Stormworks
I really like it, can you move the hatch to get in from the bow onto the deck so you don’t have water building up, if you don’t get what I mean it’s like a flat deck with a hatch
Im trying to build my first boat and following your video. Im starting to learn the editor. Cant wait to get to the painting part. Its taking me quite along time though as its been over an hour and im only 10 minutes into your video haha :( Thanks for the great video!
Bro everyone I watch your videos I try to build something close to what you do and I completely ruin it like your one of the best builders I've seen for stormworks
Looking forward to the survival series Edit: I hope they fix survival for servers because you can't make money - fuel sell/buy has no effect on cash and containers don't spawn.
Hey there NJ I'm really excited for your new survival series. you did an amazing job on that boat off the bat. I have two ideas for you. first you might want to consider redesigning the bottom of the boat slightly giving it more depth so it sits higher on the water so you can use the door you want to use. I know that might be a little bit of work but more stuff you add lower The boat is going to sit in the water unless you use a top hatch flooding is going to be an issue. And are you going to regret it later.... Second idea is make sure you give yourself a way to access the engine like maybe a door so you can make repairs or put out a fire because you might accidentally hit a submerged rock that you don't see. you have to have access to the fire to be able to put it out
I dont know how you make good looking vehicles so quickly, every time I try, I either run out of room, or it looks like a triangle. I guess I haven't tried out the new slopes.
I am trying to replicate the front of this ship, at 5:28, how did you get that to snap into place like that? no matter how I rotate that piece I can not get it to not stick out.
I like the boat, though you had said the section to the rear of the driver's cabin was going to be a passenger area and you're not using it like that. Dunno what you plan to put there.
Mrnj: build a fully functioning boat in under 25 minutes Me: build a box with windows and an engine that dosent work because I don’t know microcontrollers
I died when holding flashlight because of small propeller and when i came back to the place where i died i found 6 flashlight. I found a glitch by accident
Also, RIP basic mode I was so sad when it was removed because a lot of creations I had (including a lag-free avengers helicarrier) depended on basic mode :(
MrNJersey, how do you come up with your ship designs? Most of my ships end up looking strange cause the hull shape is the wrong style for the wrong type of ship, like a freighter hull for a speed boat, or a deep, cruiser like hull for a freighter. I can't tell if you've got an education in hull design or if you've just seen enough boats in the workshop/made so many that you've just always got neat ideas! Love your designs, regardless. That coast guard/rescue vessel you made in 7 or 8 parts has got to be one of my favorite designs! Multi-purpose and solid!
Great video, will be keeping an eye on this series ! Do we know if the new career suffers with the same mission spawning issues that 'classic career' is having ? (Stops spawning missions after so many).
I think I would like to se you try make a Emergency Beacon Locator display to show the direction the beacon is coming from? If it's possible? ^^, Greetings from Norway, keep up the good work :)
Interesting fact for Mrnjersey. The Helms of almost all boats even in the US are on the starboard side. Even small runabouts. I noticed on the workshop many people put them on the port side if they build in the US or other countries that drive on the left but this is technically incorrect.
I would like to see you solving the water-clipping problem. That would annoy the heck out of me and I would not stop trying to figure out how to solve this until it's solved. The coloring, though, why don't you use unknown ones? Something like the United Arabian Emirate Coast Guard theme? Or African Coast Guard? Looking forward to enjoy an awesome series! Stay crunchy.
MrNJersy I've always found pyramids confusing. I'm not as creative as you so I'll start building a boat and end up with a childish version of a tug boat with a blocky hull. If you could do a video explaining what the pyramids are and how to implement them in your creations, that would be very helpful. Thank you.
Dunno if it still works but if you have an open door frame surrounding the opening of an empty area, water won't flood in until it actually comes over the side, I seem to remember using that a little while back. Could be a solution to the issue with the rear of the boat?
i think this is better than the tutorials aslo for the doors i am no expert but what if u put a fluid ports by the entrance so when the water comes in it just flow into them (i think)
What's enabled in Career mode? As a new player watching old videos i saw a "Rogue" mode and other numerous options in the previous release. Do ships take damage in 1.0?
at 25:20 you can see that the engine compartment is 11 blocks long. After painting at 26:21 it is only 4 blocks long... How did you manage to get the engine in there? I tried to rebuilt the boat, but it merely floats....

Its okay mate. We all were there at some point. Enjoy the learning curve and you will be able to build like him someday.
Same
Relatable lol

So frickin relatable
HELLL YEAH A SURVIVAL SERIES I'VE WANTED IT SO LONG
Do have i
Yolo
I am so jealous of your creativity with designs
And your voice is super soothing
Will probably be addicted to your survival series for a while
This is the series I wanted to see!
WHOOHOOO
Thank you for the work you put into the series!!!!!!!! :)
Damn, doing that under 30 mintues?
It will take me like 6 hours and 2 mental breakdown.
I am literally in the exact same situation
MrNJersey in a nutshell: "a walkway system"
it amazes me how few shortcuts you use and yet you are still 10* faster than me at making a vehicle you are happy with.
19:15 he says the stability is good while the boat is violently shaking. love the vids :)
19:14 “It looks pretty good in terms of stability” he says as he’s madly darting about to stop the boat from violently rolling.
He was making it roll I think trying to test the stability
@@laundrylurker3242 Ah, I never thought of that. That’s probably what he’s doing!

Heads up, he has a bunch of tutorials that could also help you learn the ropes. He goes in depth in all of them too. Its how I learned
ThePharo any videos in particular?
Tom Eason I’m pretty sure there is a playlist. But he goes over hulk design, logic, setting up an engine and everything in between
Wow, nice job! I'm not that good at making hulls, so I got inspiration from yours :) Great Video!
a quick tip: use the modular door frame to separate the inside and outside of your hulls (you might be able to make a canoe like this), the downside is you need ways to drain the water that splashes in the hull.

love you JERSEY keep up the great content
Honestly this survival series will be the perfect thing to introduce me properly to 1.0, since I'm not familiar enough to most of the mechanics of Stormworks
This is a really cool looking starter ship. I wish I had the creativity and expertise you had.
Stormworks has come a long way.
Please give us a survival series, it would be so calming to see you save people
i think a roof hatch would be cool! you could also have stairs going up to it, it also gives more room on the sides.
When I build boats they look like smooshed cars. That's why every episode of this series will be a tutorial for me
I really like it, can you move the hatch to get in from the bow onto the deck so you don’t have water building up, if you don’t get what I mean it’s like a flat deck with a hatch
That water coming in would drive me mad!
why is it doing that? i dont understand. for a boat game those physics sucks.
If you use the custom door piece as the edge of the boat and cut it in front of the windows you can get rid of the water glitch and use regular door
I love this boat and this youtuber!
ITS BEEN SO LONG SINCE LAST I'VE SEEN YOUR SURVIVAL SERIES
Really good boat and I love the series. Please make more of the Survival Series V 1.0 :D
Love the videos they have been helping me so much trying to figure this stuff out for the first time
Im trying to build my first boat and following your video. Im starting to learn the editor. Cant wait to get to the painting part. Its taking me quite along time though as its been over an hour and im only 10 minutes into your video haha :( Thanks for the great video!
Love the shape of that hull!!
Bro everyone I watch your videos I try to build something close to what you do and I completely ruin it like your one of the best builders I've seen for stormworks
Best stormworks build i'v ever semen.
Looking forward to the survival series
Edit: I hope they fix survival for servers because you can't make money - fuel sell/buy has no effect on cash and containers don't spawn.

I'd love to see a fuel/refueling system built at some point to rescue boats that have run out of petrol.
awesome build thank you for giving me ideas on building too.
I dont know how you make good looking vehicles so quickly, every time I try, I either run out of room, or it looks like a triangle. I guess I haven't tried out the new slopes.
been confused the new 1.0 survival mode a bit. Thanks
I'm loving the new survival series ❤👍🏻
I am trying to replicate the front of this ship, at 5:28, how did you get that to snap into place like that? no matter how I rotate that piece I can not get it to not stick out.
this is a nice freestyle boat, i love it
I like the boat, though you had said the section to the rear of the driver's cabin was going to be a passenger area and you're not using it like that. Dunno what you plan to put there.

So lovely I want more!!!!More!!!!
Anyone remember that there is a sunken boat named after MrNJersey?
Hey, at least he didn't get a lighthouse like O.B.
Also, RIP basic mode I was so sad when it was removed because a lot of creations I had (including a lag-free avengers helicarrier) depended on basic mode :(
I love this, i hope to see more soon!
Try placing cubes instead of wedges adjacent to the sliding door. That might help the water issue.
NJ put a very large cross on the back of his boat.
down with the eagle and up with the cross lol

Sweet you can make proper hulls and wave cutters
Can’t wait for the next episode!
Great video, will be keeping an eye on this series !
Do we know if the new career suffers with the same mission spawning issues that 'classic career' is having ? (Stops spawning missions after so many).
Just move the roof up over the back door
Not the hole thing maybe just the middle
i loved survival thx mrnjersey
love this serie cant wait for a new vidio and the boat was beast love it
U can use the front place for water and on top comes a water canon
I think I would like to se you try make a Emergency Beacon Locator display to show the direction the beacon is coming from? If it's possible? ^^, Greetings from Norway, keep up the good work :)

Can confirm, my boat in Australia (RHD country for cars) was also RHD despite the boat being built in the USA.
You should build a door on the front for equipment so it is like a hatch
That boat is epic
FINALLY!!!!!! ITS HERE
If your engine are to big, you can make yours with the new modular engine
I like the boat! :)
I'm 7 minutes in and I'm already lovin it
I would like to see you solving the water-clipping problem. That would annoy the heck out of me and I would not stop trying to figure out how to solve this until it's solved. Heyho!
i noticed you built with 1x2 and 1x4 slopes, did they fix the drag issues on them?

Expose or ad a door on your engine bay so you can weld it
MrNJersey keep it up 👍
mrnjersey is my 3d favorit youtuber

At one point it looks like a toy boat
i think this is better than the tutorials aslo for the doors i am no expert but what if u put a fluid ports by the entrance so when the water comes in it just flow into them (i think)
this was made on my birthday
You shood make a aoto land helicopter (it lands at laser (where it points) )
I hope to see more of this
Make sure to download Slotomania for sponsoring this video.
Hey NJ could you upload this to the workshop at some point soon I'd love that
thanks
It looks great BTW
Try to rebuild it yourself, so you are learning by doing... I do it like that DIY
AWESOME!
One aircraft engine and two azimuth thrusters. Will this ever work ? This will stall your engine. Topspeed of 3m/s and total reach of 20km i guess.
How did you snap like that with the 2x4 pyrimids at 5:27 ?
i = invert
awsome build amazing
This is amazing
I'm six months late but.... I really like the design. Shame about the water glitch though...
(Never played this game, but I'm falling for it)
im still waiting for MrNJersey to start streaming on twitch :D
Mans really proving my building skills :(
I don't have this game yet, I'm still trying to get to grips with From The Depths. Why was the back of the boat flooding???
What's enabled in Career mode? As a new player watching old videos i saw a "Rogue" mode and other numerous options in the previous release. Do ships take damage in 1.0?
Nice video 👍
Great video!
I’ve never seen somebody doing this but I love it
Great Video!!
at 25:20 you can see that the engine compartment is 11 blocks long. After painting at 26:21 it is only 4 blocks long... How did you manage to get the engine in there? I tried to rebuilt the boat, but it merely floats....
He said he was gonna put the engine sideways
Do the door hatch at a 90° angle and ladder/stairs
yay. I love these
cool vidéo but what is the sound at 16:35?
Yes!
