- This video highlights just a few of the ways and places you can substitute a screw or bolt from one plane to use on another.
What are your favorite suitable substitutes?
I agree with James Harris and I am sure there are LOTS of us out there. The comment about the «Holy Grail» kinda cracked me up. 😋
Good tips. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
I finally subbed. Great content so far. I'm sure your channel will explode. I'll try to share your videos whenever possible. 👍🤙
For the tote screw I've had success using a 12-24 brass machine screw. They fit tightly and hold the tote fine and I kinda like the look of the brass on the wood.
I'm glad you are addressing the fact that Stanley used a lot of proprietary screws. And one option is for a lot of these screws, have a machinist single point a screw you can use. It will not be right, but for a user? It may be the best choice.
Depending on how much the machinist charges, absolutely. Maybe have them make a few since set-up is often the longest part
This video should be titled " You know you're screwed when the parts guy is stealing from Peter to pay Paul." Great Video as always Mr. Jenks.
Thank you sir!
Wouldn’t that be nice to just have a no1😂😂😂well done Micheal its all good information
Thank you, Jimmy!
your 45 looks great!
Thank you sir!
The lever cap screw from your number one....lol.
Good stuff sir!
Thanks!
Just borrow the screw off your No.1 for your router plane fence! HA!
Might have to add a few washers though. 😅
hey that 78 looks familiar :)
That orange paint is hard to miss!
Hi: Have just purchased a Stanley 45 combo & the pin for the blade adjustment screw is missing. How would you go about a replacement pin. What would you use and how would you fix ?
You should be able to either carefully punch or carefully drill out the broken piece of the old pin. Then put a blunted nail or other type of straight pin in place.
If you run into problems, I have whatever replacement parts you could ever want for a No45. If you had to, you could replace just the main body
Do you do woodworking videos
I’ve done a few things here and there but it’s tough to break into that market since there are SO many other guys & gals doing it, and doing it well. I’m kinda staying mostly in the Stanley history and tool parts genre for now
MJ, is there any other way to contact you besides Facebook? I have been banned
I am mjtoo on Instagram. If that doesn’t work, let me know your email and I’ll send you one
