Understanding choice and consent for people with complex disabilities

Working with Vamos Theatre, using theatre/role play workshops, and using gesture, masks, and non-formal communication, we explored themes of consent with some of the disabled people we support. This included recognising ‘No’ is as valuable as ‘Yes’ and ways of making choices and communicating to others.
This pilot project with individuals attending the Sense college and day service was funded by Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System and Birmingham Voluntary Service Council.
