It always amazes me how Khorkina wouldn’t look at the bar while doing it, she trusted her muscle memory that much!
I know right! She is going blind into that grab!
I was thinking the same exact thing
And she doesn't even use grips.
Khorkina's height added elegance to her uneven bars routine. I was such a huge fan.
She was always a favorite of mine. So elegant.
She was always amazing to watch. Everything was different, but perfectly clean.
It looks so much better straddled
I remember watching her and rooting for her too. I was gonna name my daughter Svetlana at one time, I liked her so much.
And she would finish that half turn real quick.
Gyönyörű végre hajtások a felső karfára kapásnak.😊❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰😘👍👍👍💯💯💯További sok sikert a lányoknak.😊❤️🥰😘👍💯
It looks like they're defying physics and just float over to the other bar
Early! I can’t believe that some of these skills on here are possible. I wish I was at that level!
I recorded her last ever Olympics floor routine on an S-VHS video recorder for posterity; then my mother recorded some shitty daily soap opera over it one day when she'd run out of tapes.
😕😕😣😕😣😕
👀It took me forevor-forevor to be able to perform a standing-pull over on the lower bars, but once I figured it out, I eventually rocked the lower bar. You need to be less than 100lbs, to get to the High bar tho 🤣🤣
What is it rated?
E
I was wondering the same, I was going to ask or even look it up but I saw your question and saw the comment and got my answer! Thanks! 🙌🏻🥳🙌🏻🥳
Why isn't it used more today?
No, because hip circle root is more harder to link than an stalder (chow ½) or a toe on (Maloney ½).
SHE ISNT EVEN TALL 😭😭 SHES 5’5”
That's very tall for a gymnast. Most are 5'2 and below lol
Had the same reaction. I thought she'd be taller cuz she looked tall on TV.
I don't understand either saying she was tall. I think Kyla Ross may be really tall for gymnastics or any woman above 170cm, 175cm+ would be a gymnastics giant. 165cm is tall for gymnastics for sure, but I believe there are many professional gymnasts this height. Khorkina looked tall compared to 'usual' 150cm tall gymnasts and due to her body type as to me it seems if someone sees a more lanky/elegant/slim body type they assume the person is automatically tall.
@@demonsalwayswin yeah, you're *extremely* wrong there, at least for elite gymnasts. Nina Derwael is between 165 and 170, and she is much taller than her competitors. Look at the photos from UB finals at Worlds - she's noticeably taller than Shilese, who was the tallest member of the US team, and the two of them tower over everyone else. I don't think you know what you're talking about.
@@rebeccasilver2181 Well, you just said the same I said in a different way. 🤦♀️ 165cm will tower over many in elite gymnastics, but generally it is short af and will look tall to average or usual 'gymnatics height'. Just try to read with understanding for once. Also many gymnasts from Europe are 165cm+.
wait she they some people weren't using GRIPS HOW
Would her straddled legs be a deduction in today's code?
Nbs i could do that
Never liked her. She had such a snobby attitude all the time. And she was so weak, which would cause her to make a lot of mistakes, especially on floor exercise and vault since they require more strength.
💯
It only looks good without the straddle in the half turn
