I am a big guy, and most of my camping is off the motorcycle, and i have the Nemo stargazer and the Helinox Sunset, and it basically comes down to is this trip 1 night stays, then its the Sunset... if multiple days i really love the stargazer...
Great truthful review. I have seen reviews on stargazer, but you both pointed out areas the prior reviews didn't.Thank you for sharing and be safe.
That Nemo Stargazer after a few cocktails looks like trouble.
ha, ha, ha
Fantastic thorough review! I just bought a BA Big Six, I'm excited. At 250 lbs I'm tired of breaking backpacking chairs, this one is definately worth carrying a couple of extra pounds for.
Tyvm for the advice. Very helpful. Looking for the perfect soccer mom and dad chairs.
thanks for the intel !!
Thanks for the review.
Nice review. A lot of the time simple, tried and true, and cost effective wins the days (ie Cabelas). With that said, I do own a Nemo Stargaze Luxury chair, but I did not pay full price for it. I love the chair when I am camping alone and just want to recline back, relax and live in the moment. It's not a great chair for sitting up, doing this or that, and/or interacting with fellow campers. I think those interested in the Stargazer have to keep in mind its intended use.
Well said!
This really helps I almost bought one and after I seen how it's ATS I think I'm going to look for something a little bit higher I do have back issues also
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks folks. I was just about to buy the star gazer and for all the reasons you stated that won't work for me either. Thanks for saving me some money
Thanks for this, I've decided to stick with my Coleman & Big5 combo for now, and can sleep easier not having those 2 fancy ones on my head anymore 🙂 For the whooping $200++ of a chair, I won't tolerate any cons at all
Great review!
Nice couple review. You two are a great pair.
When your motorcycle camping…… that big Agnes wins hands down, weight and compact…. We find that our “North 40” chairs are wonderful, but 2 of them come in at 30+ pounds…
Great review! I just ordered the Stargazer at half price from REI. It will not be my main chair for eating because my quick and easy Walmart chair, like the Cabela chair, is easy to fold/unfold but l often camp in the desert and can’t use a hammock want something l can recline and relax in. The Stargazer will allow me to do that and it’s high quality and packs up nicely. I also got the accompanying table that Nemo sells.
I’m not a big person and low to the ground myself so the height isn’t a problem for me 😀
Sounds like a good fit for you, plus you got it on sale!!
I’m really tired of you two being two steps ahead of me all the time… first with the hiker trailer videos. About every question I have had you have a video. Now I’m searching chairs and sure enough you video reviewed two of the chairs I was looking at. Keep up the great work!
What is the next thing you are looking at researching ? 😃
@@MWDAdventures spending time setting up my new camp kitchen. Making the transition from ultralight backpacker/car camper to hiker owner gives me more crud I can accumulate 😂. Colanders, wash tubs, tables etc
THANK YOU
Class B Camper Opinion - My wife and I had been carrying folding camp chairs in a plastic bag in our cargo carrier. On a recent trip we unwrapped our chairs and they had gotten wet and smelly. We decided we needed a compact foldable chair small enough we could carry two inside the van. We also prioritized seat comfort and a high back. We went to REI and test sat everything they had including the star gazer. Then we went to amazon and purchased and returned Marchway and Kingcamp chairs. Both were pretty good and half the price of the Big Agnes. We ended up with one Big Agnes with arms and one Big Agnes without arms. The two big plusses were the width of the seat. Other chairs sort of hammock around your legs and we found that uncomfortable. The other issue was a higher seating height with Big Agness. We are full size people not petite nor huge. I go 200 pounds and my wife...is 39 years old.
thanks for sharing your experience!
Thanks for the great review! I relate to everything that you said. Do you have any ideas where I can get my hands on a pair of those Cabella"s chairs? I've spent a few days searching high and low but can't find that awesome model you have.
I don't think they make our favorite Cabela's chairs anymore :(
@@MWDAdventures that's a shame. I love the way the arm rest folds away in line with rest of the chair so it's a slim package. Thanks anyway
Pretty nice chairs but to much construction for me
Thanks for the reviens. Do you a link for the cabella's chair?
Your welcome. We do not have the link to the Cabela's chair.
Thanks.. But the cabela chair doesn't support your head
You mentioned in the beginning other brands similar to the big Agnes armchair? What are other brands like it? I'm interested in the packable armchair.
We have seen many knock off brands make chairs like the Big Agnes - go to any outdoor store and they will have something similar.
Great review. She mentioned that the Stargazer sat low. After the front shot of the three chairs they seem to all sit the same level. Is that not correct?
correct. harder on the knees to get out of them the cabelas was the easiest to get out of .
I just picked up the Big Agnes for $159. Curious if that price point would sway to the Big Anes, or would you stick with the Cabelas chair?
Price was a big part of the decision. I also noticed some of these chairs since the review have come out with big pads on the feet. The problem I would have with them is lack of padded feet for the beach or soft pine needles or mud. Whare did u get it that cheap? I have also noticed a competitor kilo making a higher rated weight chair , thicker poles, and lower cost then big Agnes or helinox.
I might pick up the kilo and test it to the Cabela’s chair to see if it can beat it. I just got done with 12 days in Canada and it’s holding up great.
I'll just stick to my zero gravity.
How much was the Cabela's Hard Arm Chair?
I think this is the same chair. $60 www.cabelas.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-eclipse-hard-arm-chair
@@MWDAdventures Thank you so much. I will check the Bass Pro near me, I don't have a Cabela's. I've been looking for this chair because the arms fold up and allow you to hold a guitar.
Well 3 1/2 for me. Just SAYING
Not for I.
Cabela's hands down.........................
Like my cabbeallas
