I am so happy I found this video. My daughter wants half the wall in vertical stripes of black and white and the top half all pink (from our previous paint job 🙏). But she wants me to add a chair rail and crown molding on our concrete walls. 🤦♀️🤔🤷♀️
I did that in my kids room when we bought the house 8 years ago... The problem is now that he doesn't want it anymore it's hard to get rid of the thickness it left on the wall... You have to think about it real good before you do it!!!
Best way to get rid of it is to sand the wall down with some heavy grit paper. 100 should do the trick. Then you can do a quick skim coat on the wall with mud and sand it up. It's pretty easy. For doing stuff at home, you don't have to be great at mudding, it just means you gotta give it a little more love sanding! Good luck!
Best way to get a clean line is to actually paint the tape with a light coat of the paint that's underneath the tape. Let it dry. Then apply your other color. You won't get any bleed underneath the tape because the first coat already bled underneath, but it's the same color so you won't notice. Then the new color will be as sharp and straight as the tape itself.
I think it is a Benjamin Moore flat based acrylic latex and the tape appeared to be basically a version of "frog tape" (painters tape), they also have a frog tape delicate version for application over green or fresh paint that will remove without pulling up the fresh coat. 3M and a few other brands have reputable versions of the same tapes that can work interchangeably and have similar or competitive pricing. I painted a bunch of projects this year so it is fresh in my head about the tapes. Note there is a paint shortage in my area currently (I'm told it is global) so I would check availability in your area before making large commitments or purchases, I luckily got my stuff done well before the supply chain shortage. Hope this answers your questions. :)
@@peehandshihtzu Just checked Benjamin Moore, and yes they did indeed formulate "Calm" off-white. As for the expert taping preparation, those are now added to my supplies list. Very grateful for your contribution to this---and, hopefully others too will take a moment to read your comment.
Anxiety levels through the roof when that pink paint nearly went past the tape!!
2:01 mauro with the quick clean up - no one is the wiser ; )
I'm 1 second into the video, and there's already blue stripes on the wall. Done!
Shoutout to Mauro, a great painter

Maro is the DaVinci of house painting !! Blessings 👏
Not having 30 years of paint and texture build-up on the wall helps a lot.
He had to have done this with smoke and mirrors, I have tried this and not as easy as he makes it look. Wonderful job I might add
No, people think painting is something anyone can do, but it isn’t at all.

As wonderful as the final product looks I do not have the patience to tape up the wall with that accuracy.
So today he calls him mow-row. Use to be more-o. I like the double brush
Mauro is a legend in his own mind
Ok, who else wants cotton candy or Baskin Robbins ice cream after this?
I had to search Victoria's Secret after watching this.
Super smart 🤓, thanks !

Do you paint for a living?…yeah thought so!
Nice. :)
@@brianglade848...... What?
Great tip!
You pretty much have to do it this way on textured walls. For a contractor though that's extra time and money
2 questions: 1) What brand is the "Calm" off-white? 2) Can someone provide info on the painter's tape?

Where I can get the handle with doble rolls?
Amazon.

00:53 whoops
I cringed when that happened. Sometimes I think their editors put these things in to troll us.
It's gonna look fantastic... *Crap*
Why?
Why isn't the pattern centered? Starting from one side triggered my OCD big time.
Hopefully they’re gonna continue to wrap it around to the next wall. Otherwise, yeah I would be triggered too.
Gees this is silly.. just go to the store and buy Stripe paint. 😜😜😜
Jaki chan😂😁
It’s a good thing I don’t want a striped wall.
Andrew Cuomo's backup job?🤣👍🏼
cuomo will be avenatti's cell mate soon.
so random and unnecessary
Victoria secret
Did Kevin O’Connor just assume the gender of the bedroom’s occupant?
Age too
Hideous
Looks like a women's Prison.
Nice to see Mauro clean shave.
JK I hate it. He looks very inexperienced without a beard
