My personal opinion, i think ppen should be more suitable for twohand axe or one hand axe becuz shadow skill support. But alot of people move to gene mace from ws so mostly they used to play ppen thats y maybe this question is going around alot. I actually played ab mace before so i did cri since then. My thought of mace gene is only suitable for cri as shadow skill support and need us to always hitting to get the impulsive slash proc, if using skills it will only lower the chance of impulsive slash to occur.

If providence mace u should do ab or novice but end result wont exceed gene mace, becuz i was using providence as ab and novice before aswell
