- In today's video, feel the atmosphere on Soi 7 and Soi 8 during the first day of the Songkran celebrations. Songkran is a vibrant and joyous festival celebrated in Thailand as the traditional New Year's Day. It's one of the most important holidays in Thailand and is marked by various rituals, customs, and festivities.
Water plays a central role in Songkran celebrations, symbolizing cleansing, renewal, and the washing away of the previous year's misfortunes. People participate in massive water fights on the streets, using water guns, buckets, and hoses to douse each other with water. It's a fun and playful way to cool off in the hot April weather and welcome the new year with a clean slate.
Throughout the festival, there's an atmosphere of joy, excitement, and camaraderie as people come together to celebrate the new year and wish each other good fortune and happiness for the year ahead. It's a time when the streets are filled with laughter, music, and the sound of splashing water, creating an unforgettable experience for locals and tourists alike.

I did Songkran last year. It was fun but because of the water, one holiday is enough. The water gets old after three days and at 10 pm :/

NO NO NO NO NO? So you aren't trying to participate, you are just shooting for views?
"I film" would make me throw more water on you.... 😁
😊
Very quiet compared to 5 or 6 years ago.
Very crowded today
@@dvmedia6309 Not compared to then, it was wall to wall farang, it's mostly Thai bar girls today.
Maybe it was more crowded back then. I will post the video from today and you could compare. This year there are 9 days of celebration so people are mostly coming on Saturday for Songkran.
