Hi Just a note** I picked up a used 2017 model XLINE here in the UK. I watched a number of reviews and 90% mentioned the suspension was quite firm on this car. I approached the purchase slightly worried about how that would affect my bad back and hesitated on my purchase. I’ve owned a 2 series grand tourer M sport that shares the same underpinnings. I bought the car and as i drove it, within a 100 metres I realised that the suspension on fine on the standard suspension and i had nothing to worry about. I can’t speak for the M sport as that may well be a lot firmer. I’m happy with the cars’ ride it’s fine in town and very good on motorways. If you’re thinking about buying this car don’t worry It’s a very good car. Adaptive dampers would be a good option but not essential in my opinion. These cars lose their value here in the uk quite quickly so it’s a good used purchase option, providing you take a warranty as with most premium brands repair costs can be high. I don’t agree the ride is ruined as stated in this video. You should buy with confidence. I would however recommend you test drive it. I bought mine over the internet during lockdown and so am happy 😊 the suspension is plenty smooth enough.
Hi Tyler. I’m 6’3 and had plenty of room. Seat wasn’t all the way back etc. I even bought one (2017 X1 25i) myself and never had an issue with size or space. James
As I am approaching 40, I just couldn't care anymore about sporty feel and stiff suspensions. I want to drive on a cloud. I live in Dubai and it is the speedbump capital of the world. I want cars that are smooth as silk. Who cares about some body roll. I am not a racing driver and have no need to take a corner at 50km/h
UrBroFRIEND ! CLA sucks here’s why The CLA looks like a Mercedes, but compared to the rest of the German automaker’s lineup, the entry-level compact does not feel or drive like a Mercedes. CR says the CLA has a harsh ride with a cramped interior and even though the base price seems affordable, the car gets pricey with popular options. Here’s proof www.google.com/amp/jalopnik.com/consumer-reports-worst-cars-of-2017-list-is-brutal-and-1793528743/amp
As for the adaptive suspension i would say NO to it, i have it on the Active Tourer which is basically the same chassis as this and after a couple of years the suspension is far too bouncy (under-dampened) in Comfort mode yet still crashes and hits bumps hard as reviewed here with the X1 and also has an unstable feeling at the rear on highways, in Sport mode it far too over-dampened and feels all the road defects - 'washboard' type surfaces very bad - so only good on perfectly smooth roads. Perhaps changing to non-runflat tyres would help with the crashiness, but other problems will remain. People generally say the standard suspension on this car is fine, M-Sport is firm but not horrible. Plus Adaptive/EDC suspension is more expensive to fix. I now avoid Adaptive Suspensions on lower models like the plague as it's the worse of both worlds, IMO.
i don't think the dynamic dampers actually softens the suspensions as what Caradvice claims and recommends viewers to have.In its normal default mode its already on Comfort, the dynamic dampers only gives the driver the option to go into sports mode which stiffens the suspension to provide a sporty ride on winding roads. Most other reviews/videos also indicates that the X1's suspensions are already much softer than the predecessor and its ride is more compliant than a mercedes GLA 45
+john eldho - The 25i has a 19-inch wheel which is very smart. You can obviously option to different wheels, including an M-Sport version, if you like.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Niko Alfonso Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

Best car I ever owned.
what an excellent review. thumbs up 👍
+No Way - Thanks!
I agree on his comments on the road noise. Dealbreaker for me.
How roomy is it in the front.?? I’m 6’5, so if you can fit in it comfortably, it shouldn’t be a issue for me.?

Well get an X3 or X5 than :) Small-sized SUVs are usually made to appeal the younger audience, where sportiness is valued.
Have a look at the DS7 Crossback Prestige

4:06 umm, did they forget to put the blinker indicator back to the right side?
most German cars are doing that now, I have an Audi and it has its indictors on the left even though it is right hand drive
German cars had always put their indicator on the left even though that the wheel is on the right side.

MrLoichin I’ve changed my run flats to normal tyres and solved the road noise and rough steering feedback issues.. Different car now 👍
i would've liked the alloy wheels to look a bit more elegant

awesome
The first review that highlights the not-so-good standard suspension, thanks.

@Niko Alfonso it worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my account :D
@Easton Tyson glad I could help =)
Amazing 👍👍👍
I love BMW but the CX-5 blows this out the water.
My military jeep Willys MB is superior to the CX-5 in quality and driving comfort.
Haha cx-5's engine is crap
The CX-5 is nice, but it is also slow.
@@janco333 If the 2.2 diesel isn’t available in your market, agree. The 2.5 gas is just barely able to move the thing.
@@chrissorreda4982 We do have the 2.2 diesel, however its 0-100 time is 9.5 seconds, not fast tbh, but yes, it does look good in soul red
I'll definitely get a new Peugeot 3008 GT over BMW X series
Cy Nga but it only has 2 wheel drive... The Peugeot is pointless
Looks horrible as shit.
